Memory Care
We chose Kinsington Oak Grove because they had an opening immediately when we needed it. They are very good people and they worked hard to get in quickly and they went above and beyond to help us move in. It is a very nice and clean facility. If I call they respond immediately, they do the best that they can. They do not have transportation to get people to and from the hospital. They built isolation places so people do not mix as much as I would like to see. If they could mix with the other residents that would be great. I just wish it were a more open place because she is having a harder time making friends.
They did really well. The community could start encouraging activities. My mom liked it because it was the most accessible. She liked how she was treated well. The community was well kept. The staff were all very friendly.
All the staff seems to get along well. The residents seem secure and pretty content. Sometimes meals are awkward with them sitting at the table with nothing in front of them for 15 minutes, but that's not really consistent, I. Sometimes they're served a slab of ham or beef with just a plastic fork and no knife (COVID restrictions) and I think it should be cut up. My mom is very compliant, but she's not getting bathed enough. I talked to the nurse again today, so I'm hoping for better going forward. I really like that it's pretty much aroma free - they're not trying to hide anything.
