The reason I did not rate the meals and dining service a 5 overall is because there is not enough fresh vegetables and the meals are in to small of amounts. Lakeland Senior Living welcomes seniors into a vibrantly yellow, homelike community with green hills seen down the street. Eagle Point, Oregon, is known as the “Gateway to Lakes,” with access to multiple lakes for those traveling east. In this small historic city, visit Butte Creek Mill which is on the National Historic Register. Or, learn more about the local history at one of the nearby museums.
From bingo to exercise, activities are created to enrich senior’s lives. Socialize over a game of pool or poker. The community continues to evolve by adding additional activities with a pingpong table and air hockey table coming soon. On cold days, cozy up to the cobblestone fireplace. Or, read a book in the natural light filled library. Chef-prepared meals are served in the restaurant-style dining room where scenic tree imagery lines the wall.
The community offers independent and assisted living services. Those in assisted living receive round-the-clock care overseen by a licensed nurse. Beyond that, feel at ease knowing all residents have access to an emergency call system. Have peace of mind knowing your loved one is less than 15 miles from the nearest hospital. Small pets are allowed for those in independent living. Entrust your...

Response from Lakeland Senior Living
October 30, 2023We appreciate you taking the time to write review and provide feedback. We're glad to hear that you found our staff friendly and enjoyed the newly refurbished apartments. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we aim to make your experience even better. If you have any further suggestions or questions, please feel free to reach out. Thank you again.
Good to start with, then the kitchen went bad and was remodeled. Food was okay, always cold. Housekeeping was fine, room was fine. We lost a day - they owed us a day's rent that they never would pay us. It was clean, it was nice, people were nice, food not too good. One staff member that helped us was really nice. She was the head coordinator that checked us in.
Food service could be better. If a tray is sent to a residents room it often arrives barely warm or cold. Dining room service is pretty good but the food needs more seasonings to give it more flavor.

June 10, 2019We are currently under new management and appreciate the feedback to better accommodate our residents and their families. Thank you for taking the time to write this review.
I do not think there is very good communication. When i first talked with them about putting my loved one there they were enthusiastic, but I have not seen half of what they said they would do. I have asked 3 times for a statement for the bill and they still have not given me one. They messed up his medication as well.

June 10, 2019We apologize you had this experience, we are currently under new management and changes have been made to better accommodate our residents and their families.
They did really well. The community could start encouraging activities. My mom liked it because it was the most accessible. She liked how she was treated well. The community was well kept. The staff were all very friendly.

Response from Lakeland Senior Living
June 10, 2019Thank you very much for taking the time to write this kind review!
the Director has been more than helpful with information and ideas to help with Mom. This place was a little more "rustic" than we expected but everyone was nice and cheerful. And they were about to get all new carpet which would make it very nice. The biggest problem was the location which is out of our normal areas of daily travel. All Mom's doctors are two blocks from Wynwoood, which would make it more convenient for me when taking her to all her medical appts. This place also accepts Veterans benefits and medicare.

A Place for Mom has scored Lakeland Senior Living 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
