Pioneer Village

I met with this community's marketing/sales manager and was very impressed by his knowledge of the community, what housing options were currently available and other amenities they had to offer prospective residents.

[name removed] the manager does a great job managing everyone and is so patient and respectful to all the seniors. The residents were so welcoming and happy. The apartments are really spacious and nicer than many of the other places we toured. My lunch was good but I heard some grumbling that there is room for improvement. The building design is not the best if you have trouble walking yet are otherwise still wanting to live independently. A lot of walking to the dinning room. I wish the main building that is for assisted living had central air without the wall units. I hope they remodel that aspect. Otherwise, it is a wonderful choice of a place to live and so much nicer than most of the other places we toured.

I was accompanying a friend, [name removed], to acquaint herself with what Pioneer Village had to offer. We were both highly impressed with the facility and with our hostess, [name removed]. Everything was in order, the hospitality genuine, the surroundings well maintained and attractive. The low rise buildings let in a lot of cheerful light. The residents seemed happy and hospitable and welcoming.

Our family member moved in just before Covid hit and the staff, food (especially), resources, etc., have gone down hill since our first visit. For years my loved one had their eye on Pioneer Village and when it was time to move into independent living we were all quite excited. We have not felt that excitement since. They got moved in, Covid hit, and Pioneer Village had every excuse in the book for the decline of services. Yet, the loved ones have continued to pay their rent and 2022 starts with a rent increase. We have written letters, complained verbally, and wait patiently for the lack of services to change. They don't even respond. The residents move in there with the anticipation they would receive and experience all the things Pioneer Village advertises. Not the case.

This has been an incredible place. I've told others to consider moving here, because the people are friendly, the food is good, the place is clean, and it feels secure. You're well taken care of here - in fact almost too much! Like every place else, Covid has had dramatic effects. We've had several small outbreaks, and both times they lost staff. They've struggled to maintain staff since then. There have been some bumps in the road, but overall it's been a very good experience.

I had a brief tour of the premises, and although I wasn’t able to visit inside because of Covid restrictions, found the property clean and pleasing to walk around. [name removed] was a pleasure to meet, and she was able to answer all my questions,

The welcome staff, administrative staff they were not very friendly to us. I'm not sure what happened with these teams. The receptionist seemed friendly, but you never knew what she would do behind your back. We spoke to the administrator on our way out of the community. I waited for a month-and-a-half for a returns call. After several phone calls, I finally walked into the community to speak to her. The staff was friendly, and the front line employees weren't as friendly as they could be. The food wasn't as good, and the community stated it was because of COVID. The community did have some bar-be-ques for the residents. There was a time where my loved one got lost out in the local communities. My loved one had to stop by a restaurant to find his way back. The manager of this restaurant called Pioneer Village, and the community wasn't willing to take responsibility for my loved. This is because the community kept stating that this resident is in independent living and we don't have any responsibility for this residents.. The food was cold, not as healthy, and didn't included silver wear on the table for the residents.

On [date removed], as a result of wildfires in southern Oregon, my 78-year-old handicapped husband and I were homeless. Our home and RV were both totally destroyed and we were heartbroken. Hundreds were displaced in our area and there was a dearth of housing units, particularly ones that were handicap accessible. I happened upon a website called "A Place for Mom", and I entered our information. A short while later I received a call from [name removed] who doesn't usually work on Sundays, but saw my request and reached out. Long story short, about two weeks later we were able to move in to Pioneer Village. We love our new home! From [name removed] initial contact with us, to moving in to our lovely apartment, to enjoying everyday life here--the whole experience is wonderful! The residents are friendly and welcoming, and the staff goes out of its way to help us in any way possible. Oh yes, the housekeeping is great and so is the food! God is so good and we thank Him for helping us find Pioneer Village!

My husband and I have been enjoying independent living here for almost 10 months and enjoy this small, intimate community of caring residents and staff. It’s been so easy to make many new friends here among both. Our apartment is comfortably spacious and services have been very good. With the challenges presented by the coronavirus we continue to applaud our staff for keeping all residents safe while keeping our lives and activities as normal as possible. This quiet residence with lovely views, easy access to pleasant walking areas and small town businesses has made retirement transition from home ownership very smooth for us.

The virus is not welcome at Pioneer Village in Jacksonville, Oregon! Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor the gloom of COVID can keep us from visiting our Dad there! Visits have moved from indoors to outdoors where the parking lot has taken on a new look. The awesome staff has created safe covered spaces, complete with tables, chairs and ample room for physical distancing. Many of the weekly activities have shifted outside as well for residents, friends and family to enjoy “together”. When it comes to safety and sanitation Pioneer Village is taking great care of their community and families. Things look a bit different for now but spirits are high and we’re all looking forward to a return to normalcy. In the meantime Thank You Pioneer Village for all that you are doing. Dad is very happy hear. He enjoys his large group of friends. The staff is awesome.

Wonderful staff. Great community to have my dad staying in. Very well kept. Very nice location.

Staff is terrific. At time through, I wonder if the home office in Portland knows how to accommodate senior citizens, especially ones in assisted living, as a most inappropriate carpet was installed in an assisted living hallway plus other areas.

My husband and I have lived at Pioneer Village in assisted living for almost 5 years. It was the best move we could have made. My hubby is in the 5th year of Alzheimer's and the care staff and med techs are so kind and caring. We feel safe here also.

My dad has lived in Pioneer Village for 5 1/2 years and it's been an awesome and caring community. He began on independent living a few years ago as his needs warranted. It's a comfort for me to know he's so well cared for and safe. The staff is truly wonderful and caring. Gives me peace of mind!

Excellent facility. All my patients love the services that Pioneer offers.

Well set up, easy to find when I am looking for to get information on a patient. Staff friendly. Could be better educated on safe transfers
