Carmel Village Memory Care and Villas in Clovis, CA
4.5

I have to say my favorite thing about this community is how friendly and personally involved all of the staff are with the residents. They lead a great support system and have been a very big help in my mothers transition into her new living environment. The other residents that live there have also been so wonderful to her and have involved her in the different activities and events they have going on.

Carmel Village is a nice facility with a very friendly staff. I have one friend in assisted-living and another in the memory care unit. Both have comfortable accommodations and the staff is very helpful cleaning the facilities. Both have commented that meals are adequate, but think menus could be improved.

The Memory Care unit where my mom lives is running the education method of Montessori. Strategies are in place to allow her to feel useful, letting her help as much as she's able. Activities are upbeat and exciting. Staff is well trained in caring for folks with Alzheimer's. She seems happier there, surrounded by others, than she was at home. Communication is regular, notifications of issues and needs are immediate. Staff is upbeat and friendly. We would recommend the MC facility to those struggling to find a supportive environment for difficult family members.

We chose Carmel Village at Clovis because they offered the level of care she needed for a cost she could afford. It was a good experience for the 3 months she was there. She received the care she needed.
