We are very pleased with the senior living experience at Bethel Lutheran Home in Selma, CA. The apartment is large and spacious accommodating any physical needs. The quality to which the complex is maintained is one of the best I have seen. Apartments are well maintained and upgraded. The grounds are so neatly kept that it makes your outside experience so enjoyable. The staff has been outstanding from day one. Their attention to the needs and concerns of their tenants is number one in all phases of their organization--Human Resources, Administrative staff, Maintenance, Housekeeping, the Dining Café.
Cedarbrook has been amazing. BTW, my father passed [dates removed]. We couldn't be more satisfied with the care he got there. What we liked the most about Cedarbrook is the complete dedication to patients and their well-being
I would highly recommend Summerfield to anyone who is looking for a great place that provides memory care. What I love the most is I feel like my father has an extended family here. Summerfield will become another family for your loved one that will provide the love and care during those times when we are not able to be there. Summerfield prides themselves by treating residents as family. It is a night and day difference from where he came from. Prior to coming to Summerfield, my father was at Oakmont but we were deeply unhappy with his care there. He now smiles more, engaged more and became a lot more active. The employees at Summerfield truly care about the residents. Residents are constantly greeted, talked to, hugged, and there always seems to be laughter around. Summerfield has a great employee to resident ratio and ratio and I always see employees helping residents, smiling, and talking to them with dignity, care, and humor. Residents have a home away from home here.

Fresno memory care communities are licensed by the California Department of Social Services (also referred to as CDSS). These communities fall under the title of Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
Each community licensed as a RCFE must adhere to specific regulations:
Resident and staff requirements
Fresno memory care communities are required to assess seniors prior to move-in. Your loved one’s assessment may include a review of their health history and an interview with the senior and your family.
Memory care communities are also required to have enough staff at all times to provide care for residents. Regardless of the number of residents, all memory care facilities must have one staff member awake and on duty at night. If the facility has more than 16 residents, it must also have an on-call staff member. In addition, every staffed caregiver must have a minimum of eight annual hours in dementia-specific training to care for the specialized needs of seniors with dementia.
Inspections
The CDSS inspects each Fresno memory care facility once a year and no later than 10 days after a complaint has been filed. The CDSS has a Care Facility Search site where you can find lists of memory care facilities and their inspection reports.
To navigate the Care Facility Search site, scroll to “Search By Facility Group,” choose “Elderly Assisted Living,” choose the “Facility Type” and “Fresno County,” and then click on the search button. The site also allows you to search by facility name or address if you already have that information.
