For how they try to accommodate the residents, they really go above and beyond. The only thing that is difficult is that my mom can't see that well and the ovens are geared for handicapped people and it's digital and she can't read the numbers. Lot's of activities. They have things like bingo, but they also take them places weekly, like to the store, and the bank, and the doctors.
I have been here six years and love it. My apartment is very roomy and functional. The maintenance, management, and overall atmosphere are terrific, very peaceful. Parking is easy. The location is convenient: turnpike, train, busses, shopping. The price is a bit high for me, but life here is worth every penny. I am so grateful to be able to live here.
Woodlea is HUD senior independent housing, thus the rent is 30% of adjusted income plus electric, which is all utilities. It is a 6 floor building with 100 one bedroom 500 sq. ft. apartments. It is located in Pikes Creek; a nice area outside of the city. The building is well managed and clean. Two meals are available daily at a very reasonable cost but all other personal services come from private arrangements and are not provided in-house. There is a wait list that seems to run about ten to twelve months.
