I have lived at The Fort Armstrong for almost 5 years and do not regret my choice in moving here. I enjoy the live music and outings we go on.
The original staff is a 5. The staff has changed and they're in the middle of changing so I can't rate the new people until I get to know them better. It would be nice if they had a loading dock for when people move in but I guess that's the way the building was designed so there's not much you can do about it. My mom has been doing all kinds of stuff. I know they have dinners and get togethers. She's joining in on a lot of that so that's great. It's giving her stuff to do.
Mom is doing very well here she has settled in nicely. She has wonderful friendly neighbors. Her apartment is good she has washer dryer inside her apartment which is wonderful. The staff is friendly and nice. The community itself does not offer any sort of activities but the residents make their own social hours whether it be doing a potluck on a Sunday night or the ladies looking forward to the mailman coming around and capturing their attention for while and chatting what ever it is they seem to enjoy it. I do have a couple of issues that have concerned me in regards to safety. Normally the building itself is locked and the resident needs a code to be able to let you in but it has been mentioned that the back door has been left ajar and there have been family members of residents found staying the night sleeping in the common area coach. If arrangments like that have been made with the staffing a general notification should go out to the residents so they are aware. Putting aside those issues this place is wonderful I am pleased.
