[name removed] the administration is the worst human being I have ever met! Plus I have more education and experience than her! I wouldn't let my dog live there! The meals are so disgusting as well. My Mom throws most of them away.

We went looking for an Assisted Living Facility for Mom and chose Irving Point . We wanted her to stay as independent as possible but give the family peace of mind. Mom still cooks, does her own laundry and cleans her own apt. She still drives (for now) and that makes her feel very independent as she can take herself to the grocery store, doctor appts and getting her hair done. We like that meals are offered, although she usually only goes down for one & not both. She complains a lot about the meal and how they are not very good and size wise are very small. I think she goes more for the socializing which is great. She loves bingo and recently they started having church again. She enjoys that. Mom has learned everyone’s name there and has a couple ladies who she is very fond of. The nursing staff and Irving Point staff have been wonderful with her. I feel like Mom has finally settled in and is very happy there. Which makes us very happy.

The staff is friendly. One of the attributes we were sold on was the activities but in reality the activity director is not very creative and only works part-time and has other duties she is responsible for. My mother-in-law really likes the the Bingo twice a week. There seems to be little interest at times for activities and I think because not much time and thought goes into getting residents involved and the variety is limited. Another complaints is the food! My mother-in-law is grateful she can fix her own food because for the price, I have been told that it is not very good. As for the care services, the nurses and aids are great!! We would like for services provided to be itemized (e.g., Cleaning- 1hr $$; Nursing services- 15 min $$; Personal care from Aids - 1 hour $$). I am not sure why this would be difficult but just getting a bill for a certain amount of money is not satisfactory for my Mother-in-law and I agree. When services are rendered anywhere else you get an itemized bill for services so you can keep track of costs. Housekeeping (cleaning services) are fair as they tend to come too early to clean even though she has told them not to come before 10am. Overall we are satisfied knowing there is no place like your own home that you have spent over 50 years in. She is safe and has a nice place to live and a handicap bathroom that is very roomy and accessible!!

A Place for Mom has scored Irving Point 6.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
