Sunrise of Sandy
5.0 / 5.0

The staff at Sunrise of Sandy were very caring and treated everyone with dignity. They respected my mom’s wishes and preferences. The home environment was wonderful, and my mom loved their docile, friendly cat. They planned fun events for the residents to enjoy.

Legacy Village of Provo
4.9 / 5.0

We felt instantly at home when we first toured Legacy. The weight of the decision can't be understated! We really value dads home: and all the care that goes into making it a good living experience.

Carrington Court in South Jordan, UT
4.5 / 5.0

They are very attentive to my parents. They treat them like royalty. The staff is kind and very eager to please. It is always clean and smells good. The food is good it's not great. Sunday dinners has always been important to my mother and the staff is working on that issue of getting a good nice meal together for the family on sundays mom likes it to be a little fancy. They have lots of daily activities and they do need to engage them a little more to those. Mom loves anything with kids and music my kids play the grand piano they have. They have a full hair and nail salon here. And billards that my kids love as well. They keep fresh flowers around. It is so homey feeling and my dad is doing so much better mentally here. I would recommend this community to everyone.

Complete guide to nursing homes

Herriman, Utah

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is an establishment that provides housing to at least two persons who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. This type of residence provides its inhabitants with around-the-clock care administered by on-site nurses. These caregivers offer maintenance, personal care and other health related services for seniors who cannot adequately care for themselves because of the effects of aging.

Nursing homes can be a convenient and comfortable living option for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will commonly allow individuals 55 and older which is for other senior care types. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be free from discrimination, make complaints, to manage your money, and get proper privacy, property, and living arrangements. Some services come at an extra cost which can include special care services not included in the facility’s Medicaid payment, personal reading materials, and specially prepared food. The most frequent mental issue experienced by residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their memory recall, and familiarity with their surroundings, and decision making capabilities. Examples of amenities and servicesoffered at nursing homes can include patient and caregiver education, intravenous or nutrition therapy, senior centers, and skilled nursing or medical care. A significant portion of nursing home residents are individuals who experience difficulty with vision and hearing, require assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, have incontinence issues, or have a physical or mental disability.
