Sunrise of Sandy
5.0

The staff at Sunrise of Sandy were very caring and treated everyone with dignity. They respected my mom’s wishes and preferences. The home environment was wonderful, and my mom loved their docile, friendly cat. They planned fun events for the residents to enjoy.

Legacy Village of Provo
4.9

We felt instantly at home when we first toured Legacy. The weight of the decision can't be understated! We really value dads home: and all the care that goes into making it a good living experience.

Carrington Court in South Jordan, UT
4.5

They are very attentive to my parents. They treat them like royalty. The staff is kind and very eager to please. It is always clean and smells good. The food is good it's not great. Sunday dinners has always been important to my mother and the staff is working on that issue of getting a good nice meal together for the family on sundays mom likes it to be a little fancy. They have lots of daily activities and they do need to engage them a little more to those. Mom loves anything with kids and music my kids play the grand piano they have. They have a full hair and nail salon here. And billards that my kids love as well. They keep fresh flowers around. It is so homey feeling and my dad is doing so much better mentally here. I would recommend this community to everyone.

What are nursing homes?

  • Health care services
  • Complimentary transportation
  • 24-hour care and supervision
Complete guide to nursing homes

Lehi, Utah

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is an establishment that houses at least two seniors who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. A nursing home facility offers its occupants 24-hour care administered by registered nurses. These caregivers offer health related services for those who are unable to properly take care of their own needs because of mental or physical conditions, including age.

Nursing homes are a convenient and comfy care choice for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will allow access to individuals 55 and above which is for other senior care types. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include cosmetic and grooming items, special care services not included in the facility’s Medicaid payment, and a private room, unless medically needed. A significant amount of residents tend to be bachelors or widows with less social support, and almost half of nursing home residents are over 85 years old. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to have protections against involuntary transfer or discharge, get information on services and fees, get proper medical care, and exercise your rights as a U.S. citizen. Types of amenities and servicesoffered at nursing homes might include rehabilitation needed due to injury, disability, or illness, personal care (including dressing, bathing, and toilet assistance), injections, and wound care for pressure sores or a surgical wound. Nursing homes are required to provide nursing and related services, room and bed maintenance services, dietary services, and emergency dental services to residents.
