We cannot comment on the activities because our loved one did not participate in them. Of course more CNA and care givers is an area of improvement. Of course, I no that at this time it is difficult to hire staff, but at that price staffing should be adequate . We have had to hire additional caregivers to cover her care. The staff is friendly to the residents and family and appear to want to help. Based on our experience we would recommend St. Joseph of the Pines to the families.
Mom is doing very well in this community. One of the reasons why we chose this particular community was that they would transport mom too and from her dialysis treatments at no additional cost which is a huge relief for the family. The staff is awesome especially the Coordinator Angel. She is always interacting with the residents and checking on them to make sure they are doing well and if they need anything. The kitchen staff is working on coming up with a special diet for mom that will fit in with her dialysis. The community is always clean and looks very nice. I would recommend this community to anyone
They have good staff and caregivers here. The care my loved one is receiving is great! The staff truly care about my loved one and for their health and this is important to the family. There are somethings that can be frustrating as they don't have enough staff to man the secure door to let you in to visit your loved one. The visitor is left waiting at the door, until a staff member comes to the door. There is a delay in leaving the community, as the staff must let the visitor out the front door. There are three meals a day served to the residents here.

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home is a complex that houses at least two persons who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. A nursing home facility provides its inhabitants with care by on-site nurses. These nurses offer care for seniors who cannot care for their own needs.
This type of facility is a convenient and comfortable living choice for individuals 65 years and above, however nursing homes will routinely take in individuals 55 and above (a rarity in the realm of senior care).Nursing homes are required to provide emergency dental services, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), pharmaceutical services, and dietary services to residents. A significant amount of occupants tend to be bachelors or widows who have smaller social support groups, and almost half of nursing home residents are over 85 years old. Some services come at an extra cost which can include a private room, unless medically needed, flowers and plants, and personal reading materials. Examples of care services and amenities offered at nursing homes might include 24-hour emergency care, home care (like cooking, cleaning, or help with other daily activities), skilled nursing or medical care, and injections. A large number of nursing home inhabitants are persons who require assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, have a physical or mental disability, have incontinence issues, or experience difficulty with hearing and seeing.
