Just like other places they are understaffed which is why we did not give them 5 stars, however the staff members that are there absolutely do their best when it comes to our loved one. We do like how the place is smaller, and the people in charge are always very eager to help. The care we have seen has been great and they always have such a positive attitude and they always listen to us. The staff are very helpful and cheerful and we appreciate their flexibility.... The place is horrible they mistreat residents and staff. The food they feed the residents they don't want to eat because they say it tastes nasty or is too dry. I personally have been in there visiting a loved one and the smell of urine is very strong I have seen them treat the staff members badly along with residents I myself had to give my loved one a shower because he had night had a shower in two weeks as I stated to the people that were working at the time and they stated that he was on night showers and that they are not allowed to give night showers, only night shift can do this !! I even as so much had to bring it to the people working that day that my loved one needed to be seen by a doctor because his toe was so infected it was spreading to the top of his foot. They let his infection get so bad that they had to send him out to the hospital. This place needs to have new supervisors as the aide can only do so much and I can tell they genuinely care.

Please please thoroughly check into any facility you are planning on placing your loved one. Take scheduled an unannounced tours. [name removed] was a horrifying experience for our family. The talk is great until they get you in the door and then you can’t get anyone to communicate with you. Little to be known, they do not furnish bed sheets, pillow, nor blankets, if your loved one would like to watch TV you will need to furnish that as well. The administration lacks so much and unfortunately the whole facility suffers because of the lack of leadership. The unit care coordinator’s are very unprofessional as well and seem to have lack of training, they make up rules as they go along, possibly changing from day to day. Be prepared for the uncleanliness and missing personal items, I would not recommend [name removed] to anyone. There are 2 very caring employees, [name removed]and [name removed]- both assets to [name removed], need more like them.

Mom is doing very well in this community. One of the reasons why we chose this particular community was that they would transport mom too and from her dialysis treatments at no additional cost which is a huge relief for the family. The staff is awesome especially the Coordinator Angel. She is always interacting with the residents and checking on them to make sure they are doing well and if they need anything. The kitchen staff is working on coming up with a special diet for mom that will fit in with her dialysis. The community is always clean and looks very nice. I would recommend this community to anyone

Everything that my mom needs has been good. The facility is set up well. From the few that I have been there it looks fine for all the people there. The staff are handling and understanding my mom's Alzheimer good.

My father seems to be getting more involved in the activities. We were there the other day and they had someone come in and play instruments. The staff seems very caring towards the residents, down to earth and personable.

I like this community for the excellent care from the very nice staff who are always careing and attentive to my mother's needs. The community is clean and the meals are appealing with a nice variety for her to choose from. I like that she does participate with the other residents. I would highly recommend this community for excellent care and value

A Place for Mom has scored Tara Plantation of Carthage 5.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
