Cleanliness was, I would say, above average. That was the thing they did the best. The only activities they had consistently were movies, bingo and once a month a one man band kind of thing. there were two people to a room, and they could bring a tv or dresser but the rest was hospital beds and felt very much like a hospital.
The meals are fine, just typical hospital type food. The doctors have called as they've seen her, but nobody else has really reached out in the week she's been there.
The staff at the East Northport Bristal is always kind. They always have a smile on their faces and are genuinely sweet and loving to my mom. The facility is ALWAYS spotless and beautiful to live in or visit. The only area I see occasional improvement for is the food. It is not always hot and more fresh veggies needed. The personal care and overall facility is excellent.

A nursing home provides room and board to two or more seniors who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. This type of facility offers its inhabitants 24-hour care by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide care for people who cannot take care of themselves.
Nursing homes can be a helpful and comfortable care option for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will often admit persons 55 and greater which is unusual for other senior care types. The most frequent mental condition experienced by residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can hinder their memory recall, and their sense of familiarity, and decision making capabilities. Examples of care services and amenities offered at nursing homes might include injections, 24-hour emergency care, home care (like cooking, cleaning, or help with other daily activities), and social and recreational activities. Many residents of nursing homes are persons with behavioral issues, which can consist of verbal outbursts, resisting assistance, or a tendency to wander. Nursing homes are required to provide specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), emergency dental services, a professionallly directed program of activities, and room and bed maintenance services to residents.
