The caregivers are all very kind and thoughtful. There could be more activities that involve people rather than television. Such as "work outs" have someone doing it as an instructor rather than a tv program.
I say it all the time... we love it. The staff seem to love working together and with the residents... it's the first thing I saw and keep seeing still. They are fun and incredibly accommodating. Because we saw the employees laughing with one another, I sensed that finding and keeping employees wasn't an issue, and it doesn't appear to be still. They don't seem to spend money on all the bells and whistles that the others have, which may be why it's so affordable. I chose it before I knew the price and when I found out it was cheaper than the others, I was floored. And that price also includes his depends! It's amazing. They also have a secure outdoor courtyard for the memory care people, which I appreciate.
Sunnybrook Village is very homey. The staff is really good at handling a difficult transition. They promote a welcoming group among the residents. They really helped mom integrate. The only thing that would help make everything a five is to have a better range of activities. I would like to see them do more with their activity schedule. For example they tried to have pets there periodically but couldn't always pull that together. I would also like to see some more crafts or recreational activities. But it has made a very difficult situation doable. I am pretty happy with this facility.

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home offers lodging to at least two seniors who have no familial relation to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its inhabitants around-the-clock care administered by registered nurses. These caregivers offer specialized care for people who are unable to properly take care of themselves.
This type of community is a familiar and easy living option for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will usually admit individuals 55 and above (a rarity in the world of senior care).A significant amount of residents are bachelors or widows who have less social support, and almost 50% of nursing home residents are older than the age of 85. Examples of amenities and services offered at nursing homes might include social and recreational activities, home care (like cooking, cleaning, or help with other daily activities), friendly visitor programs, and rehabilitation needed due to injury, disability, or illness. Often times persons might decide to live in a nursing home over another type of community due to a mental or physical disability that prevents them from easily accomplishing the activities of daily living. The most common mental disease experienced by residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can hinder their memory recall, and familiarity with their surroundings, and decision making abilities. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be free from discrimination, get proper medical care, get information on services and fees, and have protections against involuntary transfer or discharge.
