River Bend in Great Bend, KS
5.0

My sister lived at River Bend for almost 4 years and recently passed away there. The staff and administration are the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met. My sister absolutely loved living here and loved the food as well! They were always so helpful when we had questions and very accommodating when we came to visit. We will definitely miss all the staff that we have come to know so well and highly recommend River Bend to anyone looking for a nice, clean facility with loving staff members who actually care!

Credo Senior Living in Hoisington, KS
4.7

This is a nice place for your loved one. They have a good atmosphere here. The staff are easy to work with if the family has any questions or concerns about our loved one. The community was able to provide medication distribution, dressing and bathing assistance as some of the care types available.

Brookdale Great Bend
4.5

The staff at Great Bend Brookdale was exceptional. My sister would often say how well she was treated and how much she loved the girls that took care of her. When it comes time to make a decision about assisted living I would highly recommend this facility. Great job ladies!!

Nursing Homes

A nursing home community provides lodging to two or more individuals who have no family relation to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its occupants 24-hour care by registered nurses. These nurses provide healthcare services for people who are unable to care for themselves.

Nursing homes are a familiar and comfy care alternative for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will frequently admit persons 55 and greater which is for other senior care types. Many residents of nursing homes are seniors with interpersonal social issues. These can span verbal fits, resisting care, or a tendency to wander. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to spend time with visitors, form or participate in resident groups, get proper medical care, and be free from restraints. Some services come at an extra cost which can include personal reading materials, a private room, unless medically needed, and flowers and plants. The most frequent mental condition effecting residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their and their sense of familiarity with their surroundings, memory function, and decision making abilities. A significant portion of nursing home inhabitants are individuals who require assistance with daily tasks such as walking, have mental or physical disabilities, have incontinence issues, or experience difficulty seeing and hearing.
