I can only comment about the memory unit. Those girls worked hard to maintain order and keep up. I thought to myself a few times that however much money they are making probably isn't enough. It takes a special person to that job.

N/a when it comes to the meals and dining. Dad is in independent living apartment so makes own meals. The activities are outstanding. Tons of activities for the residents to participate in. The value for cost was more than what we originally planned to spend. But after being there and experiencing all they have to offer I feel it is well worth it. My dad really likes it there. It was a true blessing from God that we went there. Very friendly and helpful people.

I’m living here currently and it’s going really, really well. I’m very pleased. When I moved in, my apartment was perfect. I had new carpet and new paint and it was really a pleasure to be able to move in. I was on the waiting list for a few months but they were able to give me exactly what I wanted, including my own parking space in the underground garage. The staff is very helpful. The only issue I ever see is that maybe someone forgets to vacuum the elevator because it’s a high traffic area but the community room and the lobby is just beautiful and they decorate for every holiday. It makes you feel like you’re living in a house because of the decorating. They don’t serve food but they provide small full-sized kitchens in the apartments. They provide plenty of activities like bingo, card games, there’s a movie every Friday night, and they have special dinner events about once a month. The other residents so far have been very friendly and very welcoming. They’ve met all of my needs and expectations and I would recommend them.

Complete guide to independent living

Kenosha, Wisconsin

Independent Living

For seniors who would prefer to live primarily without assistance but wish for the benefit of having chores and housekeeping taken care of by professionalls, an Independent Living Community could be the perfect option. Daily needs such as housekeeping and meal planning are accounted for, allowing seniors more free time to live their lives as they wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Residents’ quarters consist of a private living space with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering an opportunity to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies vary between locations, many residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are a variety of expenses and advantages to consider when choosing an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are included in your plan: field trips, private phone, cable TV, initial assessment fee, move-in fee, housekeeping, Waiting list deposit, and utilities. The benefits associated with independent living include transportation, laundry service, fitness center & swimming pool, security guards, concierge services, game/TV room, restaurant-style dining hall, and private rental hall.
