The staff at Sunrise of Sandy were very caring and treated everyone with dignity. They respected my mom’s wishes and preferences. The home environment was wonderful, and my mom loved their docile, friendly cat. They planned fun events for the residents to enjoy.
They are very attentive to my parents. They treat them like royalty. The staff is kind and very eager to please. It is always clean and smells good. The food is good it's not great. Sunday dinners has always been important to my mother and the staff is working on that issue of getting a good nice meal together for the family on sundays mom likes it to be a little fancy. They have lots of daily activities and they do need to engage them a little more to those. Mom loves anything with kids and music my kids play the grand piano they have. They have a full hair and nail salon here. And billards that my kids love as well. They keep fresh flowers around. It is so homey feeling and my dad is doing so much better mentally here. I would recommend this community to everyone.
I would say it's a decent facility, the dining room isn't managed well and they are inconsistent with taking care of service issues like toilet seats, lights etc

Independent living offers a stress-free lifestyle for older adults. Independent living communities don’t provide personal care or supervision, but do offer generally healthy adults opportunities for socialization and hassle-free living. Independent living services often include:
For many seniors, the financial burden of home ownership might deter them from an independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities provide a convenient alternative. Meals, leisure activities and housekeeping responsibilities are handled for you while you are unrestricted to use your time as you choose. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they choose. While policies differ between locations, a number of residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to employ the services of independent health care providers, they may always do so. There are a variety of expenditures and advantages to keep in mind when choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in your care plan: housekeeping, laundry, private phone, move-in fee, field trips, meals, wellness program, and cable TV. The luxuries that pertain to independent living include restaurant-style dining hall, community activities, concierge services, laundry service, game/TV room, private rental hall, security guards, and golf course.
