Calder Woods in Beaumont, TX
5.0

Safety is an important factor. Gated parking for residents, always have someone at the reception desk or security person at night. Staff is great about helping with anything you ask them to do. If they can't help, they will put you in contact with someone that can help.

Sabine Place in Orange, TX

Sabine Place feels like you truly are at home! Everyone that I know rants and raves about it. My aunt moved in here from another local facility and it just doesn’t even compare. Very clean, homey, & the staff is amazing! Would 10/10 recommend!

Independent Living

Many seniors may be physically and mentally able to live without assistance, but the financial burden of home ownership might deter them from an independent life. Independent Living Communities provide a great alternative. Basic needs such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is provided, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they see fit, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and interests. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies vary between communities, many residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to utilize the services of independent medical professionalls, they may always do so. There are a variety of expenses and benefits to keep in mind while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in your care plan: meals, internet access, parking, housekeeping, Waiting list deposit, laundry, cable TV, and utilities. The benefits that pertain to independent living include concierge services, beauty salon & barber shop, restaurant-style dining hall, game/TV room, community activities, private rental hall, security guards, and golf course.
