My loved one was in Pelican Bay the entire time, and we were very pleased with it, so thank you for pointing us in that direction. They did change hands, and toward the end there was a lot of turnover of employees, but there was always at least one we knew, so it was ok. It's a very beautiful and very clean place and employees were so friendly. Highly recommend it!... Read more

We are very pleased with Pelican Bay- no complaints really about anything. The only thing that has raised an eyebrow with me is my one interaction with weekend employees on the unit. I'm not complaining, as it was only a one time occurrence. I normally go during the week to visit, and everyone is terrific then. I plan to go again as soon as I can on a Sat or Sun and will see how that goes.

Our family had an in person tour and we thought the tour experience was really nice but we just did not get to see a lot of walking around which is one thing we wanted to see
It is a very nice facility as far as the upkeep, I think the nursing assistant were very good. I did not care for the business office people, financial aid people at all. They were very rude concerning my circumstances. If I had to do it all over again, I would not put my mom in any type of facility. If you do have your loved one in a facility, make sure to put a camera in their rooms.

Our family had an in person tour and this was the nicest our of the community we looked at, but it was way to expensive. It was a great facility, it was smaller community so it provided more one on one care, but if the price was able to come down some this would of been our choice.
Response from Pelican Bay
September 28, 2021Thank you for your review.
From what we have been able to see of the community it is very clean, and our loved one absolutely loves the meals they serve. They are doing the best they can with the activities during this past year they are keeping our loved one very engaged. We do feel when it comes to the value we are getting our money's worth for all the services and amenities they offer.

I liked this community when we looked at it. The staff we met were great and the community is beautiful. This community was just a little farther away than what we were looking for.

My mother is at Pelican Bay and loving it. She said she is being treated like Royalty. The fact that the Manager speaks Spanish is an added treat for her as she doesn't get to practice her Spanish very often.

We're very pleased with Pelican Bay! It's a well run, clean, and friendly community. It's a very new building, and I like that the entire facility is a single story. They're great about staying in touch with the families, which is especially important for those who don't live close to their loved ones. Our loved one was not on board with the idea of moving in to a community, but after just a short time here she really settled in and started to enjoy herself! They've got a lot to offer here, the care is good, and they have all sorts of entertainment, trips, and activities.

I love it! We have good communication with each other. They always contact me, I feel like I am in the loop. I visit quite often. I think they do a great job of taking care of everyone and making sure that they are in the right place. They have games, outings, they went to Floyd's Seafood and my brother and I ran into them! Another thing I like is that they can take my mom to her doctors appointments and I can meet her there, it's a lot safer for her. At Christmas a group came out and played Gaelic and Christmas music! They have a great activity center. Beauty shop and mom gets her hair and nails there. She has friends and visits people, it's a lot more social. Everyone says they want to move in with her! It is coed, but it is supervised better. Memory care they had fewer people so they were able to really keep track.

A Place for Mom has scored Pelican Bay 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
