This facility admitted my 91 yo aunt without paperwork, signature of POA or Medical POA, or any identification in health crisis. Our family was clear and direct about our wishes to relocate her closer to family from Day 1. The owner, [name removed] and the "head nurse," [name removed] inserted themselves into family issues and blocked attempts to move her and even visit her at the facility. [name removed] asserts in a document that she submitted to the court, that my aunt verbally revoked her POA. YET, THEY TOOK HER TO THE COUNTY JUDGE AND PETITIONED TO BE HER GUARDIAN. (how can she take herself seriously?) This all after they joined in a discussion with my aunt's financial advisor and has [name removed] personal cell number, his email address, and the address of the facility listed as the contact for her sizable investment account. The both have actively worked to alienate her (a senior citizen with diagnosed dementia) from her family and refused to transport her to her physician for appoi

Other than being clean, there is nothing redeeming about this facility. Frequent staff turnover, RN there has a quick temper, involves himself in family business, encourages patient to be paranoid and suspicious of family and to trust him, accesses financial information inappropriately with malicious intent, owner/administrator cuts corners. Food is cheap and never a fresh fruit or vegetable. Staff monitor phone calls, visitors, and mail and screen. Family is treated as adversaries. They are only interested in the money. Bingo is only "activity" but no prizes. Beware!

They were great to meet with and covered every part of my concerns with answers that I needed. I was pleased with how well they answered me. However they did not have a memory care for Dementia and Alzheimer, this would not fit his needs.

A Place for Mom has scored Serenity Assisted Living 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
