One thing I definitely like is the fixed cost that is an option with this community. Also the care, any questions you have, the cleanliness, involvement with residents, not having to worry if your loved one is being cared for properly. I wish I'd placed my mother there to begin with.

Waterstone on Augusta in Greenville, SC

Administrative staff has been great. Based on what my sister shares, the food served is not very tasty. I think that they could have more of a variety on the menu.

Independent Living

For seniors who would prefer to live primarily without assistance but would like the advantage of having their household chores taken care of by professionalls, an Independent Living Community might be the perfect option. Basic chores such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is provided, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they wish, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they prefer. While policies vary between communities, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of independent medical providers, they may always do so. There are a variety of benefits and expenditures to balance while choosing an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are covered in the service plan: housekeeping, transportation, parking, cable TV, Waiting list deposit, initial assessment fee, wellness program, and laundry. The luxuries associated with independent living include healthcare center, restaurant-style dining hall, security guards, concierge services, private rental hall, game/TV room, golf course, and fitness center & swimming pool.
