The Residence at Bethel Park
5.0

Mom enjoys the wildlife: deer, rabbits, squirrel, chipmunks, etc. It's like being home. Very good food at reasonable price for guests. Custodial staff cleans room 1x per week. Mom very appreciate. No oven or stove in apartment which is good idea. Reduces fire hazard. Wide variety of activities. Maintenance requests are promptly completed. Wide hallways for scooters. Plenty of room for walkers. Only drawback was not with Residence but with [name removed] Home Health Aide. A handful of times failed to execute giving mom meds. She gets them 3x per day. If happens try to resolve with [name removed]. If I could do it over would still choose Residence. ..

Tapestry Senior Living Moon Township in Coraopolis, PA
4.1

Value is a tough one. Tapestry is costly but it is nice. As you know, the level of care determines the monthly cost. My mother likes it very much. The food choices and quality could be better, she tells me. The facility is bright & airy. The activities are many. The staff is very kind, willing to help.

The food is good. Help with showers due my disabilities is great. Place is warm in winter, cool in summer. Best is how nice the owners and their employee daughters are to all of us.

Independent Living

Many seniors may be physically and mentally capable of living without assistance, but the burden of home ownership might deter them from living an independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities provide a great solution. Seniors may continue to live their lives as they desire while their meals are cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are taken care of by staff, and social activities are organized and scheduled. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they choose. While policies vary between locations, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always utilize the services of independent health care professionalls. There are a number of expenses and benefits to consider when choosing an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are covered in your care plan: meals, internet access, transportation, private phone, wellness program, initial assessment fee, cable TV, and laundry. The benefits and amenities associated with independent living include beauty salon & barber shop, healthcare center, private rental hall, security guards, restaurant-style dining hall, fitness center & swimming pool, laundry service, and transportation.
