The residents are terrific as well as the staff that work there. Some of the restaurant processes are less than optimal. Could be better coordinated. The community feel is great for my mom. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend SpringRidge at Charbonneau to other families.
It's been a great experience. Would definitely recommend. It's definitely not fancy like some of the places but it was a great fit for my dad. They have great food! I think the pricing is also very reasonable.
My Mom due to advancing Dementia moved into Hawthorne Gardens 3 months ago from another outstanding place, (Facility Name Removed). Although the stay at Hawthorne Gardens was brief, the care she got was outstanding. The staff, at the Memory Care Unit, and I know just a few and met only a few, (Names Removed) made those last months so much nicer for my Mom. Memory Care is very much about getting the residents engaged. With a staff per resident ratio better than what an Assisted Living can do, my Mom was more involved in activities. (Name Removed) sent me pictures of outings with my Mom smiling in each picture. Although my Mom could be “picky” about food, the food that (Name Removed) and her staff prepared, Mom's comments were that the food was “good”, vs “all right”. The short time I was there, I did have the opportunity to eat there and the dinner was well done and tasty. This job that all the above do and so many others is a calling. This is not just a job, I saw

Many seniors may be capable of living without assistance, but cost of owning a home and the maintenance of the property might deter them from enjoying an otherwise independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities offer a good alternative to this situation. Frequent needs such as meal planning and the scheduling of social activities are accounted for, which permits seniors more opportunities to live their lives as they see fit. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering an opportunity to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies differ between locations, numerous residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of independent health care professionalls, they always have the option. There are a number of advantages and costs to balance when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in your plan: field trips, internet access, utilities, move-in fee, housekeeping, cable TV, wellness program, and meals. The benefits associated with independent living include golf course, fitness center & swimming pool, restaurant-style dining hall, community activities, game/TV room, concierge services, laundry service, and private rental hall.
