We have been incredibly pleased with Hearthstone and my grandma loves living there! All of the staff members are friendly and attentive. The neighbors are kind and she absolutely loves the activities. It's great to have a shuttle for errands and the community is quiet and clean. Definitely the best place we could have found for her!

Avila Independent Retirement Community in Albany, NY
4.9

After visiting four other retirement facilities, we selected Avila for its friendly climate, services offered, meal opportunities, and several religious services provided on-site. Now, with three years of experience at Avila, we are pleased with our decision to join this community. We also know that Avila was selected the "Best in the Capital Region" for retirement communities through the Times Union for 2024. We now look forward to many more years at Avila.

Glenmont, New York

Independent Living

If you or your loved one want the peace of mind of having your chores handled by professionalls while living at your own pace, consider an Independent Living Community. Frequent needs such as the scheduling of social activities and meal planning are accounted for, which provides seniors more free time to live active lives as they wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to entertain guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies vary between communities, numerous residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of private health care providers, they may always do so. There are an assortment of expenditures and advantages to keep in mind when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are included in the service plan: move-in fee, utilities, private phone, housekeeping, initial assessment fee, wellness program, Waiting list deposit, and internet access. The benefits and amenities associated with independent living include golf course, healthcare center, restaurant-style dining hall, laundry service, transportation, security guards, fitness center & swimming pool, and concierge services.
