Brookdale Sparks
4.7

Re facility: renovations are almost underway, with carpeting and wall paint/covering first. I believe all furniture in shared areas is to be replaced, as it is, though pleasant, quite old. The staff here are essentially wonderful. Any reasonable resident should, in my opinion, feel cared about and paid attention to. This applies to management, dining room servers, receptionists (24/7), maintenance, housekeepers, and the staff member who plans and organizes our activities does a great job. The facility provides transportation to medical appointments 2 mornings a week. There is also transportation to varied shopping and to weekly lunches at assorted restaurants. The chef is excellent.

Everything was pretty good, though they're struggling with high turnover and the food quality and amount hasn't been great. Great caring staff, beautiful facility, but considerably higher than other facilities.

Independent Living

An Independent Living Community permits residents the chance to live an active life while assuring their care requirements are being met. Basic needs such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is maintained, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they wish, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to entertain guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies vary between communities, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with independent care providers if desired.
