Prairie Village Retirement Center in Columbus, NE

Because my own home would be better, I didn't give 5 stars. The meals are good, the help is helpful and friendly and most everyone calls me by my first name. I'm forgetful and was unable to cook for myself so this is ideal for me and I have 2 family members living within 12 miles so I can get personal help if I need to. When I need assisted living its right here across the street. I also have a sister in assisted living.

We have no problem with the community, they people there are very nice. Our only issues would be the communication regarding our loved one. Sometimes it is hard to get information and updates but we think that could be because of covid. We would definitely recommend this community to others.

Independent Living

For many seniors, cost of owning a home and the upkeep of daily tasks and chores might deter them from living an independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities offer a great solution to this situation. Frequent needs such as the scheduling of social activities and housekeeping are taken care of, allowing occupants more opportunities to live life as they wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies differ between locations, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always enlist the services of independent health care professionalls. There are an assortment of expenses and advantages to consider when selecting an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in your service plan: wellness program, cable TV, housekeeping, transportation, field trips, private phone, internet access, and parking. The benefits and amenities associated with independent living include fitness center & swimming pool, laundry service, game/TV room, community activities, healthcare center, security guards, transportation, and private rental hall.
