Many seniors may be able to live without assistance, but cost of owning a home and the upkeep of daily tasks and chores might be a deterrent to an independent life. Independent Living Communities offer a solid alternative. Basic chores such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is maintained, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they choose, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they prefer. While policies differ between locations, numerous residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing care is desired, residents may always utilize the services of independent care providers. There are an assortment of advantages and expenditures to keep in mind while selecting an independent living community.
