Cambridge House of Maryville
3.7

We chose Cambridge House of Maryville because it was recommended to us through family members, they said that it was a well-managed facility. The room sizes here are good, but I do think the kitchen could use some more space. Overall, it is a small community and everyone gets along well here. I would and have recommended for the deaf community. I do think they need an interpreter here to help with communication, that would be very helpful.

Villas at St. James in Breese, IL

Our family is very happy to have grandpa at The Villas at St. James. He didn’t want to leave his home but [name removed] made him feel comfortable. He sits with “the guys” and enjoys meal times. They take the bus for rides which he loves since he can no longer drive. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It is a great place.

Cedarhurst of Breese

Point system cost went from $250 to $600 per month. Nothing changed for the services. This was a 140% increase. No one could answer why this increase (just the wayt it is, "I was told.) No a rent increase of 15%. Outrageous! You are sucking the elderly dry. So sad. Social Security did not increase 15%!

Complete guide to independent living

Vandalia, Illinois

Independent Living

If you or your loved one would benefit from the convenience of having your chores handled while living the way you wish, you might want to consider independent living. Frequent needs such as housekeeping and the scheduling of social activities are accounted for, which provides seniors more opportunities to live their lives as they wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between locations, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of private medical professionalls, they always have the option. There are an assortment of expenses and advantages to keep in mind while selecting an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are included in your plan: cable TV, Waiting list deposit, wellness program, utilities, laundry, move-in fee, private phone, and parking. The conveniences associated with independent living include beauty salon & barber shop, golf course, private rental hall, healthcare center, community activities, concierge services, restaurant-style dining hall, and laundry service.
