The facility was extremely open and friendly to all family members. The facility worked with us to get my mom acclimated to the place and try different solutions.

Centennial Pointe Senior Living in Springfield, IL

Mom is eating good, walking more and enjoys the company. The staff that are there are so loving with the residents. It does seem like they are a little understaffed as I do not think mom is getting checked on as often as she was supposed to. There is a nurse on site all day and night. I have good communication with the staff and I would recommend this community.

Concordia Village in Springfield, IL

I have lived here for over 6 years. I do not think there could be a better place for me. I attend 10 exercise classes a week. I play bridge, pinochle, rummikub, hands & foot, go for walks around our campus with the lovely landscaping, eat luscious meals in our dining rooms, attend bible classes and church services, get good books to read from our well stocked library, go swimming indoors, and there is a art room for art projects including ceramics. There are all kinds of concerts, informative classes and parties held here and there is a movie theater with movies to go see everyday of the week. I still have my car in a garage here and I can come and go as I please. I am well cared for and feel safe and protected.

Complete guide to independent living

Rochester, Illinois

Independent Living

An Independent Living Community allows residents the opportunity to continue to live their active lives while making sure their essential needs are being met. Residents can use their free time as they wish while their food is prepared by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and recreational activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering an opportunity to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies vary between communities, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with independent care providers if desired. There are an assortment of advantages and costs to keep in mind when determining an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are covered in the service plan: move-in fee, transportation, private phone, utilities, parking, Waiting list deposit, laundry, and wellness program. The benefits associated with independent living include transportation, restaurant-style dining hall, golf course, game/TV room, private rental hall, healthcare center, community activities, and laundry service.
