Dogwood Forest of Grayson
5.0

My husband ended up at Dogwood Forest in Grayson. It was expensive but I would give it a 10+. The food is so important to the residents, the high light of their day. They have a 'real' chef there and I ate many meals there myself. So number one is meals. They also had awesome entertainment. Sometimes it was the staff other times outside people. They go above and beyond the standards. You should check it out yourself.

Benton House of Covington
3.8

I really suggest you continue to do your research on all assisted living communities. Benton House provided all inclusive pricing, including care. The staff have been good to work with the family if we have any questions or concerns. There are three meals a day served to the residents. I believe they could improve variety of options more frequently, especially drink options.

Benton House of Grayson
4.9

We chose Benton House of Grayson because of the alignment of value system and also I was able to see how they care for their community. My mother is in the memory care unit and the staff are all very responsive and we are very happy with the quality of care that she is getting. The staff, especially the management staff is great. They know who I am and really personalize things and help you to integrate into the community. It is a lot of money, but I am getting what I am paying for.

Social Circle, Georgia

Independent Living

Many seniors may be capable of living without assistance, but the financial burden of home ownership and the upkeep of daily tasks and chores might be a deterrent to an independent life. Independent Living Communities offer a great remedy to this situation. Basic needs such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is provided, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they choose, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they choose. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are a number of costs and benefits to consider when determining an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are included in the care plan: internet access, cable TV, move-in fee, housekeeping, field trips, wellness program, utilities, and laundry. The benefits and amenities that pertain to independent living include restaurant-style dining hall, security guards, fitness center & swimming pool, transportation, community activities, laundry service, private rental hall, and healthcare center.
