I have been a resident (independent) for 17 1/12 years. The community is just the right size (# of residents). The staff is welcoming and friendly, although I do not need care services, it's important to know it 's available. A resident can be as involved in the community as they whish to be. I Recommend MW!

Middletown, Connecticut

Independent Living

For those who wish to live primarily without assistance but would like the assistance of having chores and housekeeping maintained by professionalls, an Independent Living Community might be the perfect fit. Seniors may live their lives as they desire while their meals are cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are taken care of by staff, and recreational activities are organized and scheduled. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering an opportunity to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies differ between locations, numerous residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to employ the services of private medical professionalls, they may always do so. There are a variety of advantages and costs to consider when determining an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are included in your care plan: housekeeping, meals, laundry, internet access, initial assessment fee, move-in fee, Waiting list deposit, and wellness program. The amenities that pertain to independent living include restaurant-style dining hall, fitness center & swimming pool, security guards, laundry service, beauty salon & barber shop, game/TV room, transportation, and concierge services.
