Response from Willow Springs Alzheimer's Special Care Center
January 8, 2024Hi there, Our team aims to provide the highest quality care for every resident, and we are so happy to see that they've delivered at Willow Springs Alzheimer's Special Care Center. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this feedback.
My mom doesn't care for the food. Also I wish they would change her diapers more often. They seem to only do when we are there and we ask them to do. She is prone to u.t.'s. As far as activities they don't seem to have many. Even though it shows on activity board Noone does them. I have asked about them but Noone seems to know. The staff is really great, they seem to really care about their patients. It's always clean and nicely decorated for Christmas.

Response from Willow Springs Alzheimer's Special Care Center
December 29, 2023Thank you so much for your honest review. We strive to improve the quality of life for our residents and their loved ones. I am available to meet with you to discuss your concerns and work together to improve upon her stay with us.
They have a lot of activities, and try to get all the residents involved. There is music playing all the time, and my husband dances with several different ladies. On Cool April Nights there was a car show, and lots of great food. Also, memory care is all they do, where many places have Senior Living too. I feel that Willow Springs is superior to other care homes. My husband was at Oakmont also, and I witnessed the difference first hand. I also think when the only focus is on memory, there are not other distractions. It could be that memory care is an after thought.

June 6, 2023Hi there, Our team aims to provide the highest quality care for every resident, and we are so happy to see that they've delivered at Willow Springs Alzheimer's Special Care Center. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this feedback.
In the four months that my mom has been at Willow Springs she has transformed. When she lived alone she was confused, scared, angry, lonely and delusional. Four months later and she is relaxed, friendly and at peace. She has made friends and loves the staff. She enjoys participating in as many activities as she can and I like that I can participate also. The staff has been so incredibly helpful with the transition for both mom and me. They went above and beyond in so many ways. Honestly, there is nothing I would change or criticize about Willow Springs. They take great care of my "spirited" mom and they do it with humor, love, patients and compassion. The peace of mind is priceless!

Response from Willow Springs Alzheimer's Special Care Center
March 13, 2023Thanks for taking the time to leave this review Walter! We are so happy to hear that your loved one has been enjoying the dining options at Willow Springs Alzheimer's Special Care Center. Providing delicious, high-quality meals is just one small piece we can do to ensure an excellent experience.
The were wonderful; they were like family, and that was probably one of the most important things to me at that time. I was there every single day for the entire day, up until husband passed. So I attended the activities with him and it made me feel at home. They have a program called SPARK - they had flower arranging, painting, taking care of the garden outside and feeding humming birds. There was a historical program every evening going over the history of different organizations, like the boy scouts etc., it was something to get them thinking. Every morning was started off with the pledge of allegiance, the star spangled banner, and lords prayer. Those were all intended to get them sparked up and moving. They had something different every week. Communication was fine, although I didn't need a lot, but they were always available. I would absolutely recommend Willow Springs to others - it would be my first recommendation.

August 15, 2022Thank you for sharing your experience with our community. We are happy to hear we provided high quality care to your husband and we are so grateful for the time we had with him. Your recommendation means a lot to us.
Our experience has been great with Willow Springs. I really like the way they treat my loved one and they are so loving towards them. The staff have been really good to work with. The community does share photos online for family to see what their loved ones are participating in for activities.. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.

The staff were super nice people. I really liked the size of the hallways. You could easily pass two wheelchairs by each other and still a person could walk beside the wheelchairs. The rooms were nicely laid out. But they had linen napkins and crystal in the dining hall, and my loved one never appreciated that type of thing. He would not have felt comfortable in that environment.
We were not able to go inside the facility due to covid so we just looked inside the windows. We actually had a deposit on this facility, but I started having doubts after talking to some people in the community. The outside of the facility is beautiful and very nicely manicured.
We chose Willow Springs because they had availability at the time that we were looking, and they were also willing to accept my husband, who has lewy body dementia. The rooms here are all shared rooms, and there is plenty of space in them. They do not encourage televisions in the residents' rooms because they could become isolated from activities. They want them out of their rooms participating in things with others as much as possible and only using their rooms for naps and sleeping. I would recommend them.

The community is a safe environment. It is relatively affordable. The communication was good. The food was tasty and my loved one ate well. It was nutritious and just enough for the residents to enjoy.

I wish more therapists would come by and see the residents more that have mobility issues. They have an inside garden, but it would be helpful for the residents to get out of the community with a staff member to take these walks. They have great activities; however, they are sometimes the residents are too busy. My loved one would like to have a little bit more time to relax.
