Westside Garden Plaza

Overall the facility was clean, but after 2 years all of a sudden my in-laws room had bed bugs. It was treated over and over and never solved. Also after treatments they wouldn't come in and sweep or do clean ups so the floor would just be covered in gross bugs and debris. Front desk staff was always so easy and kind. They were both independent living, so we didn't receive much care. The primary care NP that came were good.

What we like the most about Westside Garden Plaza is that all the people that work there are so friendly. Food is good. Front desk ladies are very helpful and knowledgeable.

The staff is wonderful. The food is good, there are lots of activities, and the grounds are well kept. The only complaint would be that sometimes the washing machines do not work ( according to my mother in law). They do have a beauty and nail salon, but it is very difficult to get an appointment ( according to her) so we just take her somewhere to have these done. The monthly fee was increased this year by about $200/month. Hoped that won't happen every year. We were told when looking at this facility that their rent had not increased as much as some other places , but I have nothing to compare that to. All in all, it was the best move she could have made.

The care services are not applicable because our loved ones are on the independent living side. The community is very nice, the staff members are super friendly and there is a lot of space. They have big closets as well as varied menus with a lot of different choices for the residents. We would recommend Westiside Garden Plaza to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

All of the staff, including the dining room make her feel special, and that is something we like the most about the community. Everything is always so clean. She has been not feeling well for a few days and they have really taken good care of her, they called me, and I REALLY APPRECIATED that!

It has the capability of caring for my loved one through phases of her life, if she were to require more care. We had a great rapport with the admissions director. She was easy to talk to, prompt with responses, and went above and beyond to make this move as easy as possible. We would definitely recommend it and so far wouldn't change anything. She likes the meals, has made some friends, the staff is very nice, and it has a very clean, welcoming appearance. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and there are so many amenities and activities.

My mom was moved to a different room and they forgot to put the sign back up that the family does laundry. This resulted in all of her nice clothes getting lost when they did her laundry in house. I’ve contacted them and filled out the form related to this. Have never been reimbursed for the loss of her beautiful clothes!!!!

Staff was friendly & helpful. Was impressed with the sign-in procedure. Interior looked pretty upscale. Very clean. large property and well landscaped. the facility is tucked away from high-traffic areas. Nice Christian Church nearby but the offer in-house Sunday Chapel & a Friday Catholic service . Residents were friendly . My Buddy thinks the food is great in assisted living . And they are very supportive as he lost his wife recently. I live independently in a different seniors facility in another part of the city. It's certainly a step or two up in quality

We really liked the entire community has a whole - a very nice building with very rich and nice furnishings. Our loved one was only there for about a month but with the experience we did have we would recommend this community to other families. The meals and dining service was very good - they made really nice quality meals and they also had a really nice variety to pick from.

For the average person, this is a great place. It's an older facility, but a nice one. Everybody is so friendly here, both staff and residents. My mom has made friends and is very happy. When there are issues, they're pretty good about taking care of things. I do wish their communication with the residents would improve. For example, they have a community laundry room with 2 washers and 2 dryers. One of the dryers was broken for 6 weeks but nothing was mentioned about it. When I asked, I was told that the part was ordered and they were waiting for it to arrive so that it could be fixed. Understandable, but even just posting a sign in the laundry room to let the residents know would have been helpful and appreciated. The food is good, they do a really good job with variety. The director is great and seems to always be available. He gave us his personal cell phone number and email address, he's even here on Sundays! I would definitely recommend this facility to friends and family.

[Name removed] and the team made everything so easy on us and really went out of their way to make this placement work for us. We had a terrible time finding placement for my in-laws and they really went above and beyond to accommodate us. I would highly recommend this facility to others. The grounds are so nice, lots of room to walk and get some time outside. It's so nice to have a place that the kids can run around while we are visiting and the weather is nice.

They were very welcoming from the start. My mom has fit in very easily and is doing better than I could have imagined. Much of it a result of the community that has been created there.

They're very conscientious and friendly. And they're very accommodating to get you what you need. They're very good about that. We went from their respite care right into assisted living, and they took care of everything that we needed and accommodated us wonderfully. Mark, the general manager, was great And Chris on the assisted living side has been wonderful. It was a very simple transition.

We chose Westside Garden Plaza because of a lot of the positive ratings above. The cleanliness of the facility, the kind staff, and the things that they said that they do. They were very clean in compassion to the other facilities that we looked into. We would recommend them to others.

I much enjoy living here. Some irritating things - hot water toilet has to be plunged about 3 times, lots of cold air around heaters. Enjoy all the music, once COVID is gone [name removed] does a great job with entertainment and keeping those busy that want to be busy. This place is needed a lot of alteration and updating.
