I have made friends here and eat meals at various tables with them. The WFV is an old building and has not been maintained well. I've heard multiple tenants comments on allergies to unknown causes. I suffer greatly when I go down for meals and usually end up sick for several days. I have had pneumonia for the first time in my life, and suffer with multiple allergic reactions.... Read more

Most of the staff have been there for several years and really look out for the residents. Although the building is aged, they do a good job keeping it clean and nicely decorated. They have activities throughout the month and management goes out of their way to make families and friends of the residents feel welcome.

We toured this facility and it seemed like a very nice place. The activity program did seem to offer a bit less than some of the others that we toured. But we liked the facility and it seemed like a viable option for our loved one.
The people and the residents is nice.

The people here are very nice. Overall the staff is excellent. They want to do well and they want the people who live here to be happy. I think there are quite a few people here who really should be in assisted living. But everybody has been so nice to me. I like my apartment. It wasn't as tenant ready as I expected, but they've been good about answering service requests. With the food, I would just like more variety and better quality.

West Fork Village was actually my first choice there for a while. I liked that they had cottages with backyards, that would have worked out really nice for my dog. The deposit fee was pretty large and also the appliances were pretty dated which is ultimately why I did not move in there.
It's everything I expected it to be. I pay one fee, which includes my rent and three meals a day. They have activities every day, and they can take you to the store and to your doctor appointments. I'm very satisfied with it at this point in my life, and there's not really anywhere else I would want to be. Overall I'm very happy with it.

I love it! I really enjoy it here. The staff is kind and helpful. The food is pretty good, except for the tuna casserole. There's a woman who comes in and cleans my apartment every other week, and she does a fine job. I have no complaints really!

I would tell others that it is a good place and to come see me. There are plenty of activities if a resident would like to join. The staff is friendly. The food is good, and the taste is wonderful.

I would tell others looking into West Fork Village that they have screened in porches for the residents which is a very nice feature to have. The apartment sizes here are also very nice. I would recommend to others looking in the area.

The facility itself is very nice, and the value for cost is competitive but very reasonable. When it comes to the care services we do wish they would stay more in contact with our family with any updates regarding our loved one. The meals do sometimes are a little repetitive, but the residents do have the option to order something else which has not been a problem. Due to covid everything was restricted and shut down, but we do know they have offered things like bingo and other games.

We chose this facility at the time because I took lots of pictures and I showed my dad and he liked this one the best. It also has shorter hallways to the main areas so he could move around more. Overall, I would recommend to others and already have.

We did not have a good experience with this community. The staff members were not encouraging so she never got out of her bed. The convenience of the facility was good, the problem was that they kept changing personnel and every time I got familiar with the owners and staff they would sell it to someone else and it would all change. We also had a lot of issues with communication. I would advise people looking here to strongly maintain control of your loved ones money and not just turn it over to them.

The food was phenomenal when my loved one first moved in. The food now is horrible for example the food for dinner is a hot dog, and broccoli and again they call this dinner. There is no flavor to the food. All the residents are gaining weight due to all the carbs being served to them. Half the time my loved one just throws it away. The community is stating they have to follow CDC guidelines. However; how do we know where the staff is going, and why don't they have to follow these guidelines. This is just awful for my family and loved one. They have recently raised the rent. If I was able to care for my loved one, I would pull them out of this community. I brought it up to the administration over my concerns over the food. She told me, that she has never had any complaints about the food. I know that is a bold face lie.

My dad really likes being there, they do a good job taking care of the residence. Their communication is good and if I contact them take care of any issues immediately. The food is good but they could have more variety. I would recommend this community.

when my mother first moved in she really enjoyed they had good food with a small selection activities transportation she was very happy there then covid-19 they went on total lockdown to protect our loved ones I was very impressed. But they are very very very slow in opening things back up. They still do not have choices of entree at meal times. The shuttle buses that take you to the doctors are not running 3 days a week like promised. That's a really sad thing about it all is that will not allow my mother any designated family caregivers. I am my mother's caregiver I have been for years. We cannot afford Assisted Living. There for myself and her niece assist her in her daily needs. They will not allow anyone in to see her that does not have a license. This is very sad.

Response from West Fork Village Irving
November 2, 2020Thank you for providing your feedback and letting us know about your concern. We can all agree that Covid-19 has surely introduced its unwelcome affect on our daily lives. Early into the pandemic, we adopted safety guidelines to meet or exceed the protocols advanced by the CDC, in cooperation with our state and local officials. With a deep commitment to the families we serve, we have kept our residents both safe, in-touch with loved ones, and with health providers -- one by one, we are helping with doctor appointments everyday of the week. With safety measures in place to protect both your loved one and the many residents who live with us, we are adhering to guidelines that limit access to essential caregivers. At the same time, we've introduced a number of new and meaningful ways for families to stay in touch. Regarding meals, our dining features a daily "special" in addition to the full menu of meal options we offer. We also feature our "Early Bird Buffet" that's served in the dining room. Our monthly newsletter is a great way to to reference all that's going on in our community. Thank you for your continued patience as we work together during this season.
I found a wonderful new home for my Mom. She enjoys the living conditions, food & activities. She has seemed to have a new life about her. The staff is friendly and helpful, always treating my Mom with respect.
