Our experience with Tylers Mill has been quite pleasant. The staff is friendly and caring like family and they’re always eager to help. They all pitch in together as a team which helps the community thrive. Even their Executive Director is very hands on and personable, ensuring care is given appropriately. The residents that I’ve come to know seem pretty happy (including my loved one). They enjoy daily activities and fun times as one big happy family which is a major plus for me. Keep up the good work Tylers Mill Staff!

My mom is currently a resident at Tylers Mill Senior Living and the overall experience has been mostly very good so far. The move in process was great. The food sometimes could be better. Overall, my mom is happy at the place.

I liked that the facility was small so the care was very personal. The room was great! It felt like an upscale condo. Common areas were comfortable and very well decorated. I would recommend Tyler's Mill to others looking.

The staff at the memory care building are kind friendly and caring. They really focus on individualized care for the residents. The head nurse [name removed] is absolutely amazing she goes above and beyond for the residents and forthcoming with updates of any kind on my Dads care and progress. I would highly recommend this community.

The meals are absolutely substandard for older folks with weak teeth. Oatmeal was the standard dinner, there was no emphasis on nutrition. Providing protein shakes wasn't helpful, as they went untouched between visits. Our mother was out of bed in her wheelchair daily and sat in the same spot all day, where she developed a bedsore that we were told nursing was taking care of. It became so deep that she was hospitalized and subsequently succumbed to sepsis and passed away. So, no I would not recommend Tyler's Mill.

This has been one of the most complex decisions I have ever made for a loved one. I was blessed enough to find this facility for my father. My father, a veteran, is struggling with dementia. Tylers Mill assisted him with memory care while allowing him to maintain a feeling of independence a chance to socialize and, assisting him with daily activities. The staff is attentive, caring, and responsive to each resident's needs. The grounds are beautiful and clean. I could not have asked for a better experience and would do it again. The staff are dedicated and kind people. They have fun with the residents and laugh a lot. I recommend this facility to anyone facing the challenge of finding a facility for their loved one. Tyler's Mill has exceptional management and top-quality care. Cheri, the Executive Director, and Kristin, the Director of Sales and Marketing, made this transition seamless. Thank you so much to Tyler's Mill, whom I will ever be grateful to.

Response from Tylers Mill Senior Living
October 17, 2023Thank you so much for your positive feedback. I have sent this note to the Executive Director to share with the entire team. We are truly grateful that you took the time to give us your thoughts, and strive to meet or exceed our residents and families experiences each and every day.
My loved one heard staff talking badly about her referring to her as a profanity that I do not prefer to write in this survey. The activities that are listed on the daily calendar rarely exist. There is very little stimulation during the day for the residents. It’s very disheartening! The floors are always tacky and I rarely see housekeeping. I frequently clean my moms floor in her room when I visit.

We visited Tylers Mills to see if it could be a home for dad. We found it to be pleasant, active and caring. Facility was clean and the patients were friendly.

Response from Tylers Mill Senior Living
May 10, 2023Thank you for your positive comments! Our caring, passionate team appreciates you taking the time to post your observations. We do hope your dad will become a part of our Tylers Mill family.
It's a lovely, homey facility that doesn't feel like a hospital. The rooms are beautiful and obviously well cared for as are the grounds. We think it's a decent value for the money. I think the dietician should come and spend a couple of days in the Memory Care unit. I realize getting dementia patients to eat is a challenge. Chicken nuggets would be a better option than chicken wings, more green cooked vegetables are needed, tuna fish and crackers would be a better alternative to hot dogs; especially due to the potential for chocking. In all, I do recommend it as a facility, or our mother would not remain there.

We appreciate you taking the time to send us feedback regarding our dietary menu for memory care residents. We are reviewing our menus with our dietary team, and thank you again for your observations.
I like the place. The aids are wonderful. It's a smaller place, but I like that. The apartment is roomy. Her room is bright and airy. It has a refrigerator. The closet space is adequate, and the bathroom is a nice size. I would recommend this place to others.

It's a nice small community and everyone is really nice and tries to help in any way possible. Activities are usual ones you find in these facilities, like Bingo. I would recommend to other families.

Response from Tylers Mill Senior Living
March 24, 2023Thank you so much for the positive feedback. We strive to continue to enhance our residents' lives each and every day. Thank you again for your positive note.
Tylers Mill was a little smaller, but I liked that. The only thing we didn't really like was that with parents with two different care needs (one assisted living and one memory care), they would have been in two separate buildings, and it would have been difficult for Dad to go see Mom. But their pricing was really good, and they were willing to work with us.
Friendly staff and caring for the patients at all time pleasant experience for older people. [name removed] always been very useful to me with information that I needed for the clients best interest. Always going extra mile

Personally, I would obviously not share everything, that's not who I am but considering my father was there a month and a day, passed away and was charged the fee for the year, I believe in exceptions! I certainly did not think that was good proper business ethics! I would only recommend someone that needed assisted living, nothing more because my father was in memory care and did not receive the care he desperately needed which I have to live with forever, however, I would recommend [name removed] highly!

A Place for Mom has scored Tylers Mill Senior Living 8.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
