Truewood by Merrill, Cottonwood Heights

Mom's happy, the main meal is hit or miss, that's not good. Overall it's a good place. The enrollment lady [name removed], had a really good outlook and heart for the residents of AL.

My mother never wanted to be in an assisted living facility. A few days in she loved it. The people were so kind. The staff works hard to make sure they take care of everyone. Making regular checks to make sure those staying at the facility were well cared for. Regular activities that keep individuals busy with freedom to do your own thing. It was an amazing experience. My mother passed away in the facility. The staff came in to say their goodbyes, while bringing friends my mother had made at the center to say their goodbyes as well. The staff was very caring and gracious. The facility was kept very clean. Wonderful place to know your aging parent is cared for

This place has been a breath of fresh air I move my fogger from Georgia due to lack of adequate care at the facility in Georgia and the VA Hospital my father has done a complete 360 since being at this facility and the VA Hospital here in Salt Lake City the staff is very loving and they genuinely care about the residents unlike what my father endured at the previous facility where the staff complained and it was just a job to them I am so happy I made this decision the only regret is that is that I didn't move him to this facility sooner.

I have nothing but harsh words about Truewood. From care, to cleanliness, to quality of food it was AWFUL. A terrible experience for my loved one. My family wondered how they even have a licence??? Long story short.... i would not board my dog there.

It’s been a great place for my parents to live. They have a kind and caring staff the food is pretty great, and the location along the creek is phenomenal. When I visit my parents there are many things to do that are close by. Shops, restaurants, Wal Mart right across the street, etc. but you wouldn’t know it when you are there, it’s in a private, quiet, peaceful enclave with a beautiful view of the Wasatch mountains.

I think they are great place. My only complaint is that in the last 6 months there was a major turnover in management. But the people are great and the staff, especially the dining staff are great. Regarding the management change issue was that some things fell through the cracks - but have been resolved.

Truewood is a great place. My Aunt likes living there alot and has made friends. She wishes the food was better.

The facility was very nice and the memory care techs were amazing. The staff liked their jobs which showed in the loving care they provided to the residents. The food is fabulous. I highly recommend this facility to anyone that needs care for aging parents or family members.

My father was at Truewood by Merrill Cottonwood Heights for only 2 weeks before he passed, so I can't comment on a lot. The gal who we originally signed our contract with was fantastic. All the other staff interactions were pleasant, as well. The facility provided as positive of an experience as possible as my father was transitioning. The only negative experience was that we ran into some "struggles" with getting the facility to return our pro-rated refund. Nonetheless, I would still recommend them.

It's been up and down. A wonderful few months and then staff changes, then it's downright scary. Very inconsistent. The first 6 months were great and would have been all 4-5 s. The director and staff changed in November after that, not good. Started getting a little better, the last month. As assisted living goes (person doesn't need much help) it's fine currently. But an unhealthy person should not live there because currently they do not have a nurse (he left with most of the staff) they say they're still looking, but it's been 4 months. My mom gets transportation back and forth to meals and her medicine dispense twice a day and that is [amount removed] extra a month so [amount removed] a month! Luckily she has home health and they help her out.

I loved the managers. Always had time for questions and knew all the residents well. The gentleman who worked with her medications was on top of things. The only thing she had issues with was that their was not enough variety in food, and actually, it was not attractive to look at. Same old thing every week. There was a turn over alot on aids but the ones that were there thru everything were kind and patient to her and us as well.

They have a new Executive Director and things are improving. The staff that work there are extremely caring. My answers would have been very different a month ago!

I would recommend them. It was positive. The staff was very attentive, however they were having some staffing problems that began to slow service, especially in the meals area.

I would recommend. They have been great to work with. They have had issues with keeping EVS. My family members' room has not been cleaned every week and I feel like we are paying for that so we should get it. The staff is very friendly and I think my loved one is being well cared for. She wishes the food was better. We picked the place because of cost and the fact that they had room for her and took her in quickly

We picked this community because of [name removed] from A Place for Mom. It was a really hard decision, but really quickly, my family member realized she was being given good care and that's what mattered more than anything. I would recommend to others.

They are amazing. Every single staff knows my mom by name. Even the waiters. As soon as you walk in they know her story and everything about her. The staff is the happiest staff that I have ever encountered. The level of care given for the price is unbelievable. The quality of care given is even better. I would 100% recommend Truewood by Merrill Cottonwood Heights to anybody who is looking for their loved one.

We picked this community because it was close to home, and the first community that we checked out. There needs to be more activities, available for the residents.
