When looking for an assisted living place for mom, Windham had a warm welcome feeling. After I had a tour of the facility, I said hello to one of the residents that I did not know, and she asked me if my mom was a resident. I responded that I just had a walk-thru. The resident proceeded to tell me that Windham is the 'best place' for mom, and further explained how happy she was to live there. She was right! From the first day, everyone knew mom by name, and mom was treated with kindness and respect. The director, care and wellness staff, activities and dining staff, front desk and maintenance - everyone is friendly and caring, and many have a special gift of tender compassion care that will bring you a tear or two because you know your family member is well cared for. Thank you Windham - we are grateful to be a part of your family.... Read more

I have been at a retirement facility for over 3 years. It was recently bought by Cogir. The change that disturbs me the most is that Cogir is cutting costs in ways that impact residents. I could list several examples but I want to keep this short. One of their most obvious cost-cutting actions is demonstrated by the fact that food service constantly runs out of basic items. Examples: yogurt, tea, juice, fresh fruit, and, most notably, the main entree at dinner. Moreover, now the facility is almost always short-staffed.

March 22, 2024Hello Lisa! Thank you so much for taking the time to tour our facility! We recognize you. Thank you for leaving a review here and on Google! We're so glad that you found us and we're so thankful for the opportunity to get to know you and your mom. Please let us know if we can offer any more assistance! - The Windham
It was not long before our Mom started calling The Windham home. She was 96 when she moved in. 98 now. Like everyone her age, she has some limitations. Very hard of hearing and has a few “woozy” days, but gets personalized support whenever she needs it. She is considered Assisted Living, but the residents don’t really pay any attention to those classifications. We looked at other living options in Fresno, but The Windham was her immediate choice based on recommendations from other people she knew. The best thing about The Windham is the staff. They truly care. Her apartment is very comfortable. The smiling staff cleans it, does her laundry, makes her meals and brings her pills 3x per day. That was better than home! As a family member, I feel very welcome at any time. The Executive Director sits near the entrance and ALWAYS has an open door. Mom is happy, so I am happy. My Dad would have approved! We love The Windham.

March 22, 2024Hello Mark! Thank you for sharing! Your mom is a wonderful resident and truly a part of our family. We love having her here and knowing that your dad would have approved means so much to us. Thank you again! If we can offer any more help, please let us know! - The Windham
Prior to moving in my husband & I visited all senior communities in our city and we chose The Windham due to the manner in which we witnessed how residents were treated by staff with friendliness, respect and compassion( we toured/visited 4 times before making a decision). The number and variety of activities are a plus. The grounds are plush and make it enjoyable for daily walks. The location is perfect for our medical needs.Management has an open door policy and we feel we are heard regardless of the concern.

March 15, 2024Hello Stella! We are sorry that your first community didn't work out, but are so glad you found us. We're beyond thrilled to hear that you're happy here and feel heard too. That is the most important thing! If we can offer any further assistance, please let us know! - The Windham
My loved one was a resident at The Windham and the experience was not good. The administration over promised just to get him in. The caregivers were the one's who actually said that they couldn't give him the help that he needed. Not a good experience.

The Windham is great for those whose needs are truly Assisted Living. My mom was needing more assistance than they were willing or able to provide.

February 8, 2024Hello Shawn! Thank you so much for trusting us with your mom's care. We love having her. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! If you need anything, please let us know! - The Windham
The Windham community could be more transparent about how they arrive at added assisted living costs. Seems subjective and inconsistent. However based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend them to other families.

January 24, 2024Hello Sally! We'd love to hear more about your experience with the inconsistent pricing so we can remedy it. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! If you need anything further assistance, please let us know! - The Windham
We are very happy with the overall experience at Windham. It is a big transition and she is enjoying it but misses her home and does feel a bit isolated and has not connected with other residents yet but we're hopeful that will change. Very safe and clean. Thank you for all the assistance.

The staff is very friendly and the nurse is wonderful at The Windham. The facility is older than many of the other options in the area, but it absolutely makes up for it in charm. They also make sure to keep the residents involved in the governance of the facility, which is great as it gives many of the residents a sense of purpose. My grandparents enjoy living there and are always looking forward to happy hour there. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

This is a nice community. The staff communication with the family is very good. They are quick to call the family to update us on our loved and any changes. There are three meals a day served and the residents have choices to choose from. The community has a lot of activities for the residents; however, it would be nice to engage the residents in more activities.

The facility is wonderful! I enjoy going to visit. They're very welcoming and helpful there. They have a good variety of activities for the residents to choose from and participate in. They are usually very good with communicating with the family, we've only had a couple of minor issues with that. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends!

The Windham is a beautiful facility with beautiful grounds. There are lots of trees around, but that makes it rather dark, and the facility was pretty spread out, to the point that my husband wore out on the tour so we didn't get to see everything. They would have put us in assisted living, and independent living is a better fit for us. Also, the apartment was a little difficult to navigate if you have a walker. It was hard to get around corners in the hallways.
I chose The Windham because the housing where I would be provided more room, I have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which is very nice. When your first walk in everyone is very friendly and welcoming and act like they want you here. Our new chef is doing really good and trying to make things that everyone wants and likes. They have really been on top of the whole covid situation and making sure residents are safe. I cannot say enough good, it has been an excellent experience.

We moved here about 4 months ago and we really love it. They are so well staffed and helpful. The activities are very engaging and there are plenty to choose from. It's a great place and the food is wonderful.
The Windham is a wonderful place for my 92-year-old dad. the food is delicious and dad always meets new people and considers them friends. The staff is friendly and makes you feel very welcomed. The rent is reasonable and they keep dad's place very clean. Dad has been at two other places and this is by far the bests. Dad is happiest here.
I have lived here at The Windham for a year and a half and I have found the food to be great. The service is very good and the staff is especially nice.
Staff ([name removed]) was very pleasant and informative. Mentoring program for new residents is good. Limited choices on apartment size and configuration. With construction on-going in reception/lobby area it was difficult to get a good idea of what the final result will be, but it seems that there is not much area given to socialize. rental rate was a little high, and with the additional charges for assistance with mobility, limited choices on the menu and extra charges for delivery of food to a room, the rapidly increasing costs for extended care and all the rest made it very expensive.

I had my mother at the Windam and she was very happy until an ownership change. The quality of meals has gone way down and the prices just seem to be getting unaffordable. They charge the residence on every little detail, just nickel and dime them until it's just not affordable. The employees are very nice and treat the residence very good. The management has honesty issues they quote one price and then you receive the bill and it's not the price they told you. Since the change in ownership the Windam has gone way down. I would use caution and get everything in writing.

October 15, 2019We recently got on board with SeniorAdvisor.com and apologize for the late reply. The Windham changed ownership in 2016, and again last year. Unfortunately, this is common in senior living today. We are now professionally managed by Cadence Senior Living. Although our ownership has changed over the years, we are proud of our long-term staff, including several celebrating 10, 15, and even 20 years with us! We are dedicated to being transparent in regard to pricing, and hope you will bring any current issues to the attention of our Executive Director.
I have a family member that lives at the Windham. It is very clean and the staff is so friendly. The only negative thing is the food. The meals have very fancy names, however, the quality of the food is really poor. The food was actually quite good before their recent change in ownership. For the amount of money they pay for the meals, better quality food would be expected.

October 15, 2019We recently got on board with Senioradvisor.com and apologize for the late reply. I think you will find that our current menu is very friendly (no fancy names), with a wide variety of everyday menu items and daily specials. We've recently added a vegetarian menu and we'd love your feedback!
