I have peace and comfort knowing that my dad is happy and has wonderful people taking care of him in my absence. He loves his new home and is making new friends. Thank you for helping families so that they can feel at ease knowing their loved one is safe.

Very helpful friendly staff that cares about the residents.

The staff is nice but many times they are short staffed. Many nights I gave my mother a shower myself and got her dressed in her pajamas. They served French fries a lot instead of vegetables. The food was not very nutritious. She would have hot dogs frequently. She never ate hot dogs.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your kind words about our staff! Regarding your concerns, please note that our restaurant is open from 7 am to 7 pm. While there is a children's menu with hot dogs on it (which residents are welcome to order from!), there is also a full main menu available all day, offering residents a choice of more than 20 entrees. We're sorry for any inconvenience and assure you that we're committed to providing excellent service.

A ray of sunshine

Had to move mom into assisted living and found this gem. The staff is amazing. They are kind and sympathetic to your needs. We are treated like family. There is no lack of help or care . The dinning room is like going to a restaurant and the food is fantastic. They have activities schedule everyday. And family members are welcome at any time. We are very blessed to have found a place like the Residence at Valley Farm in Ashland.

Ask Lots of Questions

I would recommend you ask lots of questions about the care your loved one needs. They weren't able to accommodate all the care my loved one needed while here. There were three meals a day severed and there were choices to choose from for the residents. The activities were very quiet and subdued. There was no music playing during activities, and it would be nice to see more lively interaction with the residents.

Thank you so much for your feedback. It is unfortunate that your loved one's needs could not be met in an assisted living environment, and we hope that you've found a more suitable situation that is also a positive one for you and your family. We strive to create an engagement program that includes a broad variety of continued learning, arts and culture, physical wellness and entertainment, and are sorry that you did not witness that. Again, we appreciate your thoughts, and we wish you and your loved one the best.

Best value for good care

It's a good place it's very hard to take care of the different kinds of variety of patients they have to deal with. They are doing a good job. I thank them every time I leave for doing what they do because I know I did it, took care of my parents for several years.

Highly recommend

We chose The Residence at Valley Farm because it just fit the needs of our loved one. The apartment sizes are really big. The food is really good, you get a menu with options to choose from and they are chef prepared meals. It is a very well run facility, administrative staff is great. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

Overall it is a lovely community for independent and assisted living

This community has a whole calendar of events from bingo, chair aerobics and a walking club. They also have arts and crafts, sometimes the residents will paint and during the holidays they may make decorations. They also have game and movie nights. The calendar is broken down by cognitive vs physical. The engagement director, she is fantastic. The food is fantastic, and the chef is amazing. Our loved one only eats certain things and the chefs caters to all of her wants. They have a very nice variety to choose from. The care takers who are with my mom day to day are amazing, they are so kind to her.

Compassionate, communicative, and hard working

During my mother's stay at The Residence, the community has mostly been in lock down. From what I have heard, it has been good. Under the circumstances they have been working very hard and have also been transparent with us about what they are doing to keep the residents safe. We get weekly communications regarding what they are doing and they are alerting us whether or not they have had any cases. They have also tested the residents twice to make sure they know exactly who has what and where. They have also shown a lot of compassion towards us and our family. They do try to get my mother out of her room when possible, while keeping her safe at the same time. The director has been very responsive to my questions or concerns and has shown a lot of compassion.

Based on first impressions...

My Mom and I toured here. They would’ve been good for my parents but the only thing that held us back was the location. The girl that took us on the tour was very good. She went through all of our questions and went through what everything would cost and took the time to break it all down so we understood. When Mom came by, she tailored the tour for Mom so it wasn’t as long but she was still able to see the key points. They had coffee and snacks, which Mom really liked, and it was just a nice personal touch. I found it to be really comfortable and they seemed to care.

A tour for options of care

We toured this community for my mom's care. We liked the community but wanted for my mom to have a room that she could possibly have a room mate. The menu was appealing and the activities would have been a benefit for here. We like the care options, but this was not what we could afford for her care.
