The staff is generally very friendly except for 1 member who is not very patient with my mom. The staff at night don't seem to help much. My mother is at this time can change her clothes by herself, but I don's see them helping her with denture care and sometimes not with her compression stockings. The director of the program is very nice as well as the nurses, most aids, and the activity directors are very kind and patient and caring.

Beautiful and friendly community. Mom has a dog, loves the outdoors and access to the park. It's too bad they stopped the garden club. This was one reason she choose Brookdale Cushing. Also dog friendly and plenty of outdoor area to walk. The garden club stopped a few weeks before she moved in.

Great community. Staff and residents very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We picked this community, because of the spectacular grounds, and park to walk dogs.

I think the staff are exceptionally kind. However, the move in process, with all of the introductions and orientations, etc. is very unreliable and communication is poor around that. I really had to stir things up for quite a while before it became clear to everyone that my father had never gotten a tour, or an introduction aside from what I gave him. It leaves one with the feeling that it is easy to disappear there despite all the talk.

The Brookdale Cushing Park is well run and the people do everything they can to help. It's acceptable but they clean every 2 weeks and they don't do a deep clean really. The people there are amazing. They have some limits but are able to care for my father and keep him safe. COVID was awful for the dining. They finally have a later dinner option but it's difficult for me to join him for dinner. Assigned seats is strange as well. Food is meh not bad not great. When it comes to the activities they try to do what they can. I was not thrilled that the rent went up [fee removed] in less than a year and we just got an "oh well" from them but I think that is a lot for one year.

I toured this community and it was very nice. Staff was friendly. Facility is very clean.
The experience has been great. I would recommend this community be on your short list to view. The meals are very good and the food is excellent. I find it inconvenient as dinner is served at 5:15 as the only options. They aren't allowing visitors in the dining room due to the COVID protocols. If a resident wants to eat their food in their room the food must be ordered ahead of time. The staff are professional. The location is very good. We are very happy so far. There are residents that have been in the community for a long time. They are able to accommodate multiple care types, so your resident can go from independent living to assisted living, and then to memory care.

We chose Brookdale Cushing Park because we were moving states to be closer to family and there were certain things we needed in a facility such as it being smoker friendly and pet friendly and we found that here. We are in independent living and have our own little house with a garage. It is 2 a bedroom and 2 bathroom and just the perfect size for what we need. We would recommend Brookdale to others looking.

We chose Brookdale Cushing Park because it was affordable and my mother had stayed at Brookdale facility in California and the experience was good and she was happy there. They were willing to be flexible with our timing and they even gave us furniture since my mom was moving from out of state. They just made the biggest effort to be accommodating. It is a super nice facility and the management is very understanding and willing to help and truly concerned about the residents. I would recommend them to others looking.

Our family had an in person tour and for the money it just did not like seem they were offering a lot or anything special. It seemed more like your typical standard facility.
Response from Brookdale Cushing Park
October 29, 2021We appreciate you taking the time to visit and share your feedback. We are committed to quality service and care and will review your feedback with our management team.
Really friendly and really low key. They have a very homey fill at this community instead of feeling like a big cruise ship. They have activities like exercise, walking and a book club. They have a quilting group and they do daily university lectures from college professors. They also have social get together in the court yard, happy hours and more.

Our family was able to have an in person tour, and we were able to see a lot of this community. Brookdale Cushing Park is a very nice and clean community and was one of our top choices.
Our loved one really seems to be enjoying the meals they are serving, and sometimes he will has special requests like salads or fresh fruits and they will bring it to him with no issues. The activities are opening back up, they have concerts on their property on Saturday's that families can come to. They serve, wine, soft drinks, water and snacks. We have not had any serious issues and even if we have a small issue it is fixed right away. During the lock down because of the location of the facility, it is right next to a very large park that has tons of benches, so we could call at any time any day and take our lvoed one out to the park which was huge,

We were only there for a short time. The quality was terrific. The grounds were well kept. The meals that were brought were what we had hoped for. We enjoyed our time while we were there. My only regret is we didn't into the community move sooner.

The community was willing to put restrictions on a senior community but won't take the responsibility to make some changes. With Covid, they have not adjusted or engaged the residence since covid started. The communication was not the best and they couldn't guarantee that some of the services were being done correctly or at all. we also had a lot of issues with billing and being overcharged for services.

Brookdale Cushing's staff, director, and assistant director have all contributed to making this residential community one of the safest and most pleasant retirement communities in the area. The weekly question and answer sessions with the directors give all residents and their families an opportunity to inquire about various temporary restrictions imposed recently to enhance the safety of all. The green space surrounding the buildings and cottages offer easy access to the outdoors, where, although isolated, we are aware of the many local people who are enjoying the park. The delivery of generous meals at dinner time easily covers most of my daily needs. I'm glad to have moved to Brookdale before the onset of the epidemic.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Cushing Park 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
