The place is clean but short staffed. When you need one you can't find them .The food isn't how they tell you.The portions are so small and the choices are not great. The activities are always the same. Most people spend their time in their rooms. If you complain about anything nothing is done about it. The one thing good about it is the outdoor garden section.... Read more

A staff member promised a resident a free bed, saying they would deliver it when she moved into her new apartment the following day. They never came up with the bed. The mentally and physically disabled woman had no place to sleep, ending up sleeping in the lounge of the apartment building, where she now resided. And she had none of her belongings. I went over the next day, and after calling 911 for the woman, who was now too sick to stand up, I went over to the Promenade to complain. They could not care less, and thought it was amusing. I moved all the woman's belongs to the new apartment. A few aids were helpful in packing, but the administrators treated me as if I was the problem.

Built in mid-80s, has been renovated though it needs some more work. Staff was very friendly as was the marketing person. We liked the suite layout better than the 2 bedroom at Braemar. Price was per day and with meds it came to a little over $6,000/month. We will follow-up with them by way of my brother arranging a parental visit and I will fill out their financial application. They have a suite available. We liked that they were privately run.

I recently had taken a tour of this community for my mother and I was pleased with the experience. It was actually our first choice for mom. We felt that their facilities were more than adequate for her. The director all but guaranteed a room. We were all set to go and transfer her and then Promenade said they decided that they did not feel that they had adequate ability to care for her. They did not handle this well at all due to lack of communication.

Third month for my father in this place. For anyone who is planning to enroll their family members in this place, I would like to share my unpleasant experience to help you understand how the "racquet" works here. We are self pay, firs of all. That is very important here. If you are being paid for by medicaid, my guess is that they can easily soak them for claims of providing the residents with extra services where they upcharge them from $20 to $80 per day extra for services they "claim" they are providing a specific individual. At the very start of only the second week, they claimed my father needed the following extra services fir an extra $40 per day equal to $1200 more per month. The extra services they "claim" he needed are as follows: 1. Help showering. 2. Help putting his laundry away. 3. Help going to the bathroom. After being forced to sign a document that claimed he needed this, and that I give them permission to charge extra for the services, not one of them has to this day been provided to him by any of the staff. Be very careful with this place. They are geared up to take elderly peoples hard earned savings. Now that I am questioning these non-provided services, nobody returns my phone calls. I am the power of attorney.

Currently my mother is in rehab. but once she gets better she will be making the return to this community. I know she is safe, and in good hands at this facility. They have a great staff at this community. They are very helpful, and attentive. One of the first thing I noticed when I toured this community, was how clean it was. Everything looks great. This is a great community, and I would recommend it.

On my tour I realized they were not close enough to the family. They also told me they were not able to accept her. I did get to see a prettier and cleaner community. They showed us the whole community and the amenities. I would have been comfortable with using them but they were too far.

A friend recommended this place to me for my dad. As I was told, this was once owned by a different party, and just recently was bought out by a new company. What started out with a $1000 "non-refundable community fee", now totals $173 per day for a regular private room on the second floor. The problem I am currently having after just 5 days of my dad living there, he still was not provided a simple shower curtain in his bathroom. I was quoted the "published pruce" of $105 per day for this room. They than tack on $20 per day for medicicine management, and recently added $40 per day for "level 2 care". Now the price is $113 per day (I have still yet not figured out why I was quoted on paper $105, that turned into $113. Now the problem I have with the "level 2 care " for the extra $40 per day seems to be where they are charging extra for something they claim he needs, but I am puzzled as to what they are providing for thr extra $40 per day. When I visited him today (5th day being there) I decided to use the bathroom in his room and noticed STILL NO SHOWER CURTAIN. I asked him how he took a shower with no shower curtain, and much to my disappointment his reply was that he has not had a shower yet. There is a trust level that has now forced me to explore other places. Also, the residents were served a HAM AND CHEESE SANDWICH for dinner today. Do some reseaech first. Be sure to ask "what are the extra charges?".

My aunt was there when it was South Winds. Very nice. Then Promenade took over. Yes they re=decorated the main lobby and some rooms and it looks beautiful. But the resident care is horrible. All they want is to raise the residents rent, saying their care level has gone up when we the family was bathing our aunt and doing her wash. they did less care but would not care. The same staff that served meals were the same people that showered the residents. but by the time they were done in the kitchen it was late and my aunt was too tired by then. People walk around not able to find their rooms no one helps them. The administrator does nothing , his excuse is he is new and doesn't know the routine there. Always have the wrong clothes in her closet, and now that she has just passed away, no one called to express any condolences, I had to call to say her room would be emptied in 2 days. then I hear how sorry they are that she passed away. Useless they should of called me. Now they wont return my security because of a paper I did sign saying you don't get the security back because it goes to air conditioning and parties. But of course my signing wasn't on that page of many but just sign on the first and last page. So they did slip that past me. I would not trust these people with my pets! So beware !

Over all it's a nice clean community with lots of activities. We liked that it was close to the family. The community is continually improving the rooms and the facility. We had a great tour, and have since moved in.

I was researching information for a friend. So they they’ve been very happy with the services and experience they’ve received from The Promenade at Middletown, so that’s why I gave them a five, but I’m out of state.

My mother only lived here for a week, and I have mixed feelings looking back. When we first checked it out, I was very impressed. The staff was warm, receptive, and the community is very clean. I told the staff that she used a wheelchair at home, but they only said she needed the walker at the residence. In the time that she was there, she fell three times. I do not in any way blame the staff, but I wish she had been given more attention. After she fell, they asked me to bring the wheelchair. Also, after I took her out of the residence, multiple articles of her clothing were missing. This was six weeks ago, and I still have not gotten any of them back. The staff has been nice about it, I received an apology, but I have since had difficulty reaching them or they have not communicated with me. This has been disappointing, and I wish they would have an overall increase of attentiveness to their residents and their families.

Clean, pleasant atmosphere. Medical needs seem to be addressed on all levels. Lots of activities available including 'off campus.' Rooms are large and lend themselves to the client's personal touch! I hope my mother will be as pleased when she takes the tour.

It's been good, but there have been a couple of bumps in the road. It's under a lot of construction right now. Everybody is friendly the times when I've been there. The people who provide the care are very good. They have a restaurant type service, and there are sometimes complaints about that part of the staff. They have a couple of people that run video games for the residents, they play bingo, and run movies, they have outings, and they have a vehicle to take them to the mall. I think once the construction is done things will be pretty smooth. For the service they provide it's pretty reasonably priced, they do offer some care services if needed for extra charge. Some are a separate price and some come with the care level. If the care level improves they don't adjust it. They have a center courtyard that is completely surrounded by the building so the residents can safely walk around.

If you want a place that your family member will be happy and well cared for chose this place. They are all dedicated and the most caring people that I have ever encountered. The staff and the residents. My mom went to physical rehab for a short time there and the residents came to greet her and welcomed her back. The staff also did the same. I can't say enough good things about this place.

Karen was very helpful. She gave me an extensive tour. I was very pleased with all the renovations that they were doing. I had been there many years before when it was South Winds and found it very dreary but the upgrades make it a cheerful place.
