Yes they need to have a dietitian. The food is fried and canned. They could do a lot better. Not to mention, that there are no guests allowed at dinner time or any other time in the cafeteria. Does not make it nice for visiting family that they can't dine with their relatives

My loved one was previously a resident at The Promenade at Middletown and her experience at this facility was overall just okay or less. Unfortunately, she was not happy at this facility and we moved her to a different place.

Not so crazy about the neighborhood but garden/outdoor area in the center of facility. No need to go outside the building except there! Staff were fabulous.

When you go for a tour with [name removed] you are told things that are not true. I told her my concerns with mom being there & she said they would take care of it Not true! Most of the staff are nice but every time there was a issue NO ONE took responsibility The place itself is ok clean wise but the rugs are disgusting & the ventilation isn't good I had to put a air purifier in due to dust The meals are basic not gourmet as advertised, they are basic & the residents complain it's not enough food for them My mom wasn't taken to dinner twice (that is what I observed) so I had to go there everyday to make sure she was given dinner I was told they would encourage her to go to activities but that's not true so she laid in bed all day which caused her to lose circulation which caused her to fall 4 times in 3 weeks The day I moved her out I was told a resident tried to stab another resident and he was left at the facility instead of taken out. I would NEVER recommend the Promenade of Middletown to anyone!

My loved one is a resident at The Promenade at Middletown. She hates the food, other than the sandwiches. The activities are good, though there are not many outings. The staff is okay, but can get a bit snappy with the residents. I'm not sure of the backstory on why, though. The cleanliness is good.

The facility and staff makes the residents feel at home. The biggest improvement would be in the food. Sometimes it's good, but there are days when residents get a piece of bread and coffee for breakfast and that is it. Overall I would recommend The Promenade at Middletown to others looking for assisted living.

The facility itself appeared to be above average compared to some others I saw. They had a beautiful outdoor seating area that I liked. We are country people and we thought the location was not very safe, but for someone who lives in the city they might not even blink an eye. I did not like the shared room set up. It was more like a hospital and the residents have to share the same bedroom rather than having separate bedrooms and a shared living space. It was just not the right fit for my dad.
Our family had an in person tour and the tour experience was very good and it would of been one of our choices but the community itself was just a little run down - it needs some updating
This has been a pretty good experience for us. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. I am happy with the staff and the communication is good. The community has a beautiful courtyard for the residents to use, and it appears that many of the ground floor apartments have access to this. This was one of the main reasons we selected the community. The medical portion could be communicated better to the family. Medication management is one of the care services offered to the residents. This has been a change for my loved ones. It would be nice to offer more details to the residents and the families for those that request it. The food is okay and edible. There could be more spices in the meals, as they are currently pretty bland for my loved ones. There are activities for the residents to participate in if they choose to. They do have a piano that my loved ones enjoy.

we toured the Promenade at Middletown and upon first impression, I thought that it needed a renovation. although the rooms looked nice, it just seemed very dark. we chose another community because the Promenade did not have the quality of living that we were looking for.

A fantastic facility! [name removed] personally took us on a tour. She knew all the residents by name and they all knew her. The facility was clean, upbeat, and the residents all seemed happy to be there. They have a beautiful garden and a wide variety of activities, well planned meals, live entertainment, and regular medical observation. This is the perfect home for my mother-in-law!

The Christmas holiday party at the promenade was excellent. The people there were great!! The employees give it their very best and put their hearts into everything they do. I'll be there next year, wouldn't miss the holiday feelings that are expressed by everyone and shared by all the people envolved. A truly great place to take your elderly parents to, they are taken care by the most energetic people that are available in the area. Thanks to all the people envolved.

My mom has been attending the Promenade Day program since March 2019. Prior to the Promenade, my mom was very depressed and had nothing to look forward too after my dad past almost 4.5 years ago. All she wanted to do was sit in the house, watch tv, and sleep the day away. She was going down a really bad path, and I knew if she didn’t get involved in something she would be joining my dad shortly. My husband and I starting checking out some programs in the area. When we arrived at the Promenade, Illisa Lipkin, Director of the Day program, sat and spoke with us for at least an hour telling us all about the program. I knew as soon as I met [name removed] with her warm, friendly, and caring demeanor that the Promenade was the place to bring my mom. My mom was very leary about going to the Promenade at first. [Name removed] reassured my mom that she would have a wonderful experience. [Name removed] told me to leave my mom for a few hours and run errands. I returned a couple of hours later, praying that my mom was not going to want to run out the door when I arrived. I surprisingly found her engaging with some of the other regulars in the day program, and she didn’t even notice I returned. My mom now looks so forward to going to Promenade to see her friends. It is so nice to see her smiling again and engaging with others. [Name removed] and her assistant, [name removed], do an amazing job keeping everyone engaged in mind stimulating and fun activities all day. [Name removed] and [name removed] really care about making everyone feel welcomed and special. My mom just celebrated her birthday at Promenade and came home raving about this being one of the happiest birthday celebrations she had in a long time. I cannot say enough wonderful things about [name removed] and [name removed]. We have been truly blessed to come across the Promenade. Thank you so much ladies, we so appreciate all you do.

The Promenade is a great place with a caring staff. When i visit there the residents are always beinging attended to with a smile.[name removed] Is one of the managers, and is not one to just sit at her desk. You can always find her out and about making sure everything is running smoothly. Two thumbs up to [name removed] and the crew of the Promenade!!????

My Mom has been living at the Middletown Promenade for five years now, she came to the Promenade when she was 98 and just celebrated her 103rd birthday. In those five years she has been treated very very well, I could not ask for better. The staff treats her as if she were their Mom, I'm so very happy I chose the Middletown Promenade for her care. From the first day we met [name removed] she made Mom feel at home, and to this day [name removed] always stops to talk to her with a hug when she sees her. [Name removed] and the staff at the Middletown Promenade great job, thank you so much. [Name removed], [name removed], [name removed]

The Promenade was very accommodating to my sudden availability for a tour. All of the questions I had were answered as well as things I never considered. [Name removed], who gave me the tour was very friendly to everyone and addressed each resident that we passed by name and said something nice to them as we walked around. Although this is just the start of my search, this is a possibility.

My mother in law is living at The Promenade in Middletown. I can't sing their praises highly enough. The place is run like they are caring for their friends and family, not like it's a business. They are incredibly helpful and supportive of the family members who are dealing with the complications and emotionally trying time in an elderly parent's life. Moms care aides are so loving and helpful. She always is dressed beautifully and they even curl her hair! There is something to do all day long in which she can choose to participate or not. If there are problems, they are addressed immediately and fixed. The dining room smells delicious and the variety of food is abundant. If mom doesn't like the meal, there is always an alternative available. The staff has been incredibly helpful with insurance claims, medications and emotional support. Her room, and all the common areas are clean and tidy. I told my kids that if I ever need support they could happily put me there! Thanks to all the staff there for taking such good care of mom! It was a difficult decision but the best one we ever made.
