Response from The Pearl at Fort Mill
March 9, 2023Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day!
Prior to moving my loved one in at The Pearl, I had looked at two other facilities and even made deposits on each of them. But things weren't lining up there, so I decided to take a look at The Pearl and ended up choosing them instead. And I'm so glad I did. They are fully a memory care facility, with no adjoining assisted living. If I could have hand written and hand picked the best place and chosen how it would be run for my loved one to be happy and secure, it would have been just like The Pearl. It is just excellent. The other places felt almost like a fort or a prison. There were so many hoops to jump through to visit. That's not the case here. When you walk through the front door, you're immediately in a lovely, huge room with lovely furniture. Someone immediately greets you and gets your name / takes your temperature. But it doesn't feel so restricted. The facility is very light and airy, and the residents are free to roam safely throughout it. My loved one has been very content and happy here. The director's office and business office are open to anyone, resident or family member, who wants to stop by for any reason. There are no closed doors, and no feeling that certain staff are above anybody else. The maintenance team allows him to help with little things that he enjoys, which helps him to feel useful. The staff sincerely love the patients. They know what they are doing, and I feel they are truly called to their work. There is just an atmosphere of contentment and peace. Every night when I go home, I can lie down without worry, knowing that he's in good hands. And I'm so grateful to them for that. Looking back, I would encourage others not to resist making the change like I did, because on the other side you'll say "I wish I had done this sooner," without the guilt and stress and pain of worrying if you're doing the right thing. It was most definitely the right thing for him - he is thriving and doing so much better here. And it was the right thing for me as his caretaker as well.

March 9, 2023Peggy, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at The Pearl at Fort Mill! If you ever need anything else from us, please feel free to give us a call or stop by. Have an awesome day!
The Pearl is fantastic. The management team was great, the nursing staff, hospice, everyone. I could ask for nothing more. I would tell others to be kind to the people that are working there and they will be kind back to you. If you have to have an experience like this, then it was a good experience for us.

The Pearl helped my mother celebrate 4 Birthdays and she passed away 2 weeks before her 108th Birthday. She especially enjoyed the crafts, pets and the singing entertainment. The entertainment they brought in was outstanding. I enjoyed many of the parties with my mom. Mother Day Tea's, Sip and Paint, Super Bowl Parties, Mardi Gras, special programs to honor the veterans, dress-up Halloween parties. I was very pleased with the food they severed. Well balanced and tasty. When Mom lost more teeth and couldn't chew very well, they pureed her food for her. The staff was always about and would stop by the residents, call them by name, make light conversation with them, and give hugs. On warm days everyone enjoyed the outside activities. They had balloon volley ball, bowling in the halls and much more. The building and the furnishing are very pretty and all the times I was there, it never smelled bad. I am very grateful that my mom was able to live out her last years in this environment.

We chose The Pearl at Fort Mill because of the availability at the time. The room sizes here are decent. I would want others to know when looking into the facility that you should visit it first before putting your loved one here. The best part about the community for us would be the location since it is close to family. I would recommend.

We chose the Pearl because we just liked it when we went in there, people were sitting all around in the living room at the front door, we also really liked our tour guide. It is all memory care so they are great at what they do. They also have a psychiatrist that comes to the facility and my mother needed that kind of attention so it worked out great. The room sizes here are excellent, very comfortable. They provide all furniture and linens for residents. They had plenty of activities and were able to get my mother to do things she hadn't done in years here. I was so impressed by how hard they tried, they were so helpful. All of the staff would even go to all of the meals with the residents. I would recommend.

They are a really good place for early to mid-stage dementia. Many other options had more late-stage residents. The layout of the community and room sizes is good. They have three internal courtyards. The food is good.

We chose this facility because we felt is was the best place for my wife. We liked the layout and the cleanliness. We felt it was more of a facility that would be able to care for someone in my wife's condition. I don't know a lot of the staff because I can't go visit my wife right now because of the virus, but the ones I have met seem pretty nice. The food is fine but my biggest concern right now is that my wife hasn't being eating well.

May 12, 2020Thank you so much for taking time to leave us feedback. Phoenix Senior Living’s priority is always the health and safety of our residents and associates. I invite you to call and speak with the Executive Director to discuss your concerns regarding meals.
The staff are very caring and they seem to take excellent care of my mother. They do a lot of activities for their physical as well as their mental well being. It seems like a very great place for the fiscal value. The food is very good and my mother likes it. She is happy there.

May 12, 2020Thank you for the kind words. We apologize for the delay in replying as there was a glitch in the system. All our best.
My mother has been at Autumn Leaves since [date removed], and we have found the staff to be warm, caring, and attentive to her needs. They are responsive to our concerns and questions and seem to know all the residents and cater to them individually. Even the cooks come out to personally check on residents and make sure the meals are appropriate for them. My mother always has plenty to eat on her plate, and there are events every afternoon that feature snacks and entertainment. This growing community has become extended family for her and my dad, who visits every day.

I found that most of the staff is young and they don't care about the residents they are there to talk about the parties and etc. the meal portions are small and most of the residents are still Hungry after a meal. Some of the residents are seed for with being cussed at and thrown around. The management is young to and I have talked to them and they don't act like they care either. For a new place and the amount of money paid I would not recommended it

Autumn Leaves of Fort Mill is an absolutely wonderful community. It is a new community that is an extremely clean facility. The staff was very kind and friendly. We ended up choosing another that would accept Medicaid when the money ran out.
