The staff was amazing, they really did seem to care about my dad and loved that he was very friendly and always happy. The quality of the care suffered in that I think they were short handed. He developed a bed sore and then was not ambulatory at all after that and that's when things went downhill quickly. He seemed to enjoy the meals and eating in the dining room with the "cool kids". They put him at a table with like minded people and he enjoyed that. The activities department did a wonderful job. He enjoyed the arts and crafts, music activities and bingo. He even got to pet a llama and go on an outing to get a frosty at Wendy's.... Read more

They could do better at getting back to me with requests sometimes. The overall cleanliness in the facility is great. its just often a lot of crumbs on the floor and his tray table in his room that I notice. Also he shares a bathroom with his neighbor and that isn't always the cleanest.

March 2, 2024Dear family member, Thank you for your five-star review! We sincerely appreciate the privilege of caring for your loved one. May you be comforted as you remember their legacy. You will always be a part of our Peaks family. Warmest regards, The Peaks at Clinton Memory Care
This has been such a positive experience. The activities director does a fabulous job. She goes beyond to plan meaningful activities for the residents. Everyone is kind and friendly. My mom is happy and well cared for.

The Peaks is a great place to stay connected to family. [name removed] creates such fun activities there! We have 3 generations of family who love to go have fun together and with Grandma dancing, having fun refreshments, making fun crafts, etc. We had a blast with the live music for Valentine's Day and the yummy pancakes and toppings for Morher's Day. The decorations are always festive and inviting. We also love to buy lunch and eat with Mom on any day. The meals there are great!

My mom has been in the Peaks for a couple of months now, and we can tell the difference with her socially. When we visit if there is an activity going on, she does not want to miss it. She enjoys going to them. She likes helping put in flowers outside by the fountain, The craft ones using her hands. She likes music therapy, working out her legs and hands to music. She likes putting puzzles together. She likes animal therapy, enjoys when the dog comes in. It it’s good to have things for them to do and make sure that they are not always in their rooms, lonely, and that they are socializing with other residents to help make the time and day go by faster.. so they don’t feel so all alone. There are activities going on a couple of times daily to make sure the residents are not bored! They even have activities that the families can come and enjoy with their loved ones which makes that a lot of fun.

My mom is a resident at The Peaks at Clinton. They have been so helpful to us since arriving over a year ago, offering support, encouragement, and advice with the adjustment in the beginning and continuing today. We are impressed with the activity director, [name removed]. The residents know her well and look forward to a variety of activities, which include learning, discussing current and historical events, games, laughter, and some silliness- eliciting smiles and laughs from the residents. She shows she sincerely cares and loves the residents and is always ready with a welcoming individual greeting and smile. And sometimes a great costume to support and celebrate different fun days or holidays. I’m grateful for the smiles she brings to my mom and others!

My dad will be 95 tomorrow. The Peaks was not my first or second choice to bring him. I had a family member being cared for at a wonderful facility for 8 years after a stroke. I thought it was the best of the best until we came here. Every one of the staff is so caring and genuine. They have many activities every day. [name removed], the recreation person knows how to bring the fun out of all the residents. What can I say about [name removed]? I don't know what his actual job is. But he does everything for everyone and makes all the things they do fun. They always put families first. We always feel welcome and wanted when we visit. He is thriving and happier than he has been on a long time. With all of the care my dad is getting here, I can love and enjoy him again without the worries of caring for his needs. I could go on and on about all the great things about this place but I will just say I am very glad my dad is here.

All of the staff that I encountered were excellent and very caring. My Father was only here for three days, he passed away on the third night that he was here. He was not eating any food while here. The place was very clean and modern. Communication with the staff was excellent.

If you ask my loved one, he wasn't happy there. But that could have been just situational, due to his own personal circumstances. I felt that the staff listened to us. Everybody was really nice and easy to work with. We were not happy with how they cleaned his room - we're not sure that they ever vacuumed. And the bathroom was in big need of repairs. One of the reasons why we moved him there was because they said they had a monitoring system in the rooms that could detect if he was up in the night or if he fell. And that was never working, which was disappointing.
There is so much going right here. I love that the staff try to enrich their facility with memories. They want to know so much about each resident here and they facilitate the things that they remember in their daily living. It feels more familiar and is comfortable for the residents. It has been such a positive experience for not only my loved one but others as well. I would absolutely recommend Barrington Place for those looking for memory care.

My loved one loves the food. We picked this community because, it was closer to home, a single level and smaller community. It was easy for my loved one to access, and get around. They take good careof my loved one, and they are really happy. Overall, it's a good place.

The friendliness of the staff and all of their accommodations have really stood out to us. When we came for the tour before we stepped through the entrance our loved one was very hesitant about the situation and kept saying there was no way they were staying here. However once we got through the tour they really enjoyed it. Our loved one made a friend and was even given lunch - they were thoroughly impressed and happy. it was a very good first impression. The staff have been very accommodating and helpful in every aspects. We do think it the value for the money is really good.

I liked this community as well there was nothing that stood out as a red flag but there was also nothing special that stood out. We just went with another community due to the overall feeling that it gave me. This community just did not have that same feeling.

The staff was wonderful. I believe my loved one got the best care possible given the situation. They worked very closely and well with the hospice services that were needed at the time. It's a kind, caring, facility. I'm confident that had I been able to go in (I live outside the area) I would have been pleased. My impression was that it was very well run and well managed, with good, qualified staff.

February 2, 2022Lisa, We want to take the time to thank you for the positive review! Here at Barrington Place, we strive for excellent care, and we hope to continue to be able to provide that for you in the future to come!
My mom has been at Barrington for a year now. She is always clean, her hair is done, her room is clean, her meals r delicious, she gets her medications on time and she's involved in activities. Her overall health has actually improved and she's lost weight, which has helped with her diabetes. The staff truly care about the people they serve. They work hard to keep the residents involved with holidays, lots of activities, outings in the community. This is one of the BEST places I've ever seen. There's times when we go to see my mom and she would rather be involved with her friends than to go get ice cream with us lol. The best part about Barrington is the residents can get outside in the courtyard but can't get out and get hurt or lost. That's a huge relief for family members who have loved ones who wander. I can't say enough good things about Barrington. To me Barrington is like having a little piece of heaven right here on earth for people who struggle with this cruel disease. I will forever be grateful for how Barrington has loved my mom, treated her with respect and gone the extra mile when shes had bad days. They have also treated us with respect and dignity while we watch our dear sweet mom go on this difficult road of dementia.

Do not send your loved one a JEA facility! Care plans are not followed, management teams have NO integrity, and we have found them to be big BULLIES! The only positive was the handful of CNA's, not all - but most, who seemed kind and willing to care for the residents as far as they were allowed to by the nursing staff. We just got my dad home from a facility in Clinton, UT and it has been nothing short of a nightmare after having to shower him every time we went to see him, a trip to the ER and being advised by the ER to take him home for 4 days while starting the new lasix medication, and finally after a month of sores on his backside because they wouldn't take him to the bathroom or clean him properly after they made him mess himself, we've brought him home again to heal his behind. And to top it off, the next day they called and said we could not bring him back! How dare, they or anyone else, think they can treat our elderly this way - taking advantage of the vulnerable situation caretakers find themselves in or a loved one. The sores will heal but the stress and exhaustion may never. We tried to follow their requests to email (week 1) them about concerns immediately and to give them 48 hours...however, nothing started to change until the start of week 5 - most things, sadly, did not. Good sales pitch but they didn't deliver! We were rushed from the minute we arrived to tour the joint, sign the paper work, give them the check, and kiss dad goodbye...less than 2 hours - such a scam!
