They've had some issues keeping housekeeping staff. The hallways are often unvacuumed. Also, they don't always keep up with things that need to be fixed in common areas, like fans, patios etc. The staff doesn't always participate in activities, they'll start a workout video and then disappear. And, they're often late getting started with scheduled activities. Seniors like schedules! We've been a couple of different places and are extremely happy with Legacy. We realize that where there are people working there will be issues, but they sincerely try to make things good for residents.

My Aunt has passed away. I was so thankful for all the care she received. It was great to have her in a safe and caring facility. It was so nice to make her little studio feel like home.

Response from The Legacy at Town Square
September 7, 2024Hello, Ivy — we offer our deepest condolences for your loss and appreciate your kind words for The Legacy at Town Square. Thank you for recommending our community to other families.
With everything, we had some ups and downs as Mom's need for more care developed. We were always able to work out the issues. At times, we felt Moms room could have been more clean, but the staff was always willing to make it right when we brought it to their attention. From the front desk to the cleaning staff they always treated us and Mom very well. We had sporadic issues with temporary helpers and when Mom was needing to move to additional care. Communication of her needs was the biggest issue. The workers that knew her I would give a 10+. Mom complained about the food, but I think it was good. Mom was not a big participant but they always tried.

Overall the care was poor. The nurse had no idea what she was doing and there was only ONE for the whole facility and she would leave at 5. I constantly would get calls saying she fell what should we do (why would they be asking me when its their job).. or asking me to take her to hospital. They didn't watch her. She fell constantly or would sit naked in her room unnoticed. Terrible experience especially since it's very high dollar place.

He did not want to engage in any of the activities; but, I was there everyday and the activity director was either conducting daily activities or creating new activities. Many were themed around holidays, seasonal etc. The Legacy Town Square is the only facility I would recommend. As soon as I entered the front door. I knew I had finally found the right fit for us. They employ only the best. They took exceptional care of my husband. I left every evening knowing he would be well cared for. The meals are great, plenty of activities, and friendly staff. All rooms are private and cleaned weekly. For anyone looking to place their loved one in assisted living, I would not waste my time touring other facilities.

Response from The Legacy at Town Square
September 11, 2024Thank you so much for your glowing review! We’re thrilled to hear that The Legacy at Town Square felt like the perfect fit from the moment you arrived. It’s wonderful to know that our activity director's efforts and the care our staff provided gave you peace of mind. We appreciate your kind words about our meals, activities, and private rooms. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to care for your husband. If there’s anything else we can do, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Legacy at Town Square is NOT equipped for memory care. I picked this place in the beginning because they were very caring and concerned for my husband's needs. After four days he was too much for them too handle.

My loved one is currently a resident at The Legacy at Town Square and her experience at this facility has been great so far. The staff are all great. The cleanliness and friendliness are great. The care services, activities and meals have all been great, as well. I would recommend The Legacy at Town Square to family and friends. It's a great value for the cost!

November 8, 2023Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review and offer us an opportunity to improve. I sincerely apologize that your experience did not live up to the standards that we have and that you should expect. We would love the chance to speak to you in greater detail regarding these issues so please reach out to us at our home office with any further details or concerns. Again, thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.
Only issue is lack of communication with director and nurse. Grandma has fallen several times and I was never contacted. The facility and staff are very nice though It's pricey but I'm ok with that if care is good

When we were searching for an assisted living facility, we were impressed by several things about Legacy. The staff was all friendly and helpful. The facility was clean and did not smell. Probably the most important thing was that the residents were friendly and talked to us on our tour! My father had been living in a nursing home for 16 years after a series of strokes, and his facility said he really needed a place where he could be around people like him, where dementia patients were housed separately. So having active residents who were mentally cognizant was important. I narrowed down the selection to 2 places, and both facilities sent a nurse out to do an assessment on dad at his facility. Dad made the final selection, and since he was not able to tour either place, his decision was based entirely on the interaction between these nurses and him. Legacy's nurse asked him about what he did for a living, his military service, activities he enjoyed, his family, where he grew up... in addition to the questions about his physical and medical conditions. The other facility only asked about his conditions, how many people were needed to assist him in the shower, etc. Both were polite and kind, but dad really liked that Legacy asked questions about him, not just his physical limitations.

They are great people and Mom is thriving there. Having the in-house PT and OT is an absolute blessing. Mom does not like the food but I think that is just Mom. We have ate there and we think it is good. The food dislike could just be because she doesn't have much of an appetite to begin with.

This was my second choice, we didn’t go with this community because we wanted more space for my loved one to be able to walk around without getting lost.
We chose The Legacy at Town Square because when you walk in the door and you see how it is set up, it just attracts you to come inside. I also learned what questions to ask them since this was our second time around and I liked what I heard. The staff has been phenomenal. The activities director is over the top great. They go out to eat on Mondays, they go on field trips every Thursday, etc. they are busy all the time. They also offer in-house physical therapy too. The room sizes are great and they have a variety of floor plans (about 5 different room types). They are all one bedroom, but they have different layouts. I would absolutely recommend this facility to other families.

I personally would come here again without hesitation. We have seen other communities, and this community is better than anywhere else. The staff communication with the family is pretty good, and we are working with the community to find out the best way to communicate with the new director. The community recently lost their assistant activities director and they had COVID in the community, and this put a damper on the activities. However, the calendar of activities offered for the residents is very good.

I would definitely go to LATS, [name removed], the director is awesome. They need better caregivers. I think some don't have the heart for it

This is a good community however, My mother was here for a limited time due to her needing more care than this community could provide for my loved one with memory care. They have been going through a lot of changes with leadership at the time and that is affecting staffing. It is hard with communications because one person that you are talking to one time may not be the same person that you communicate with the next time.

This felt more like an independent living community, and was beautiful. Unfortunately it wasn't a good fit for my loved one.
My transition to The Legacy was so very easy because of the people. The residents accepted me so easily. It was just so easy for me to be here, and I loved it right away. The staff have been great. They've worked overtime to do things for me. If you tell them you need something, they find a way to get it for you. I think cleanliness is excellent. And their outdoor spaces are a nice place to go when the weather turns nice. I wish they had a swimming pool, but that's okay. They do have a nice gym, which I plan on enjoying soon.

my loved one had a very short stay at The Legacy - to no fault of the community. while she was there i thought it was a very nice place on an especially good looking property. everything was pleasant aside from their lack of staff. there didn't seem to be enough staff to fit my loved ones needs. when she first moved in, they allowed the laundry to pile really high. our concern was addressed by a few different staff members who assured us it would be taken care of on that day. the laundry, which consisted of soiled bedding and clothing, remained there for several days. i would say the community was clean, aside from the laundry issue; which could be attributed to their struggles with staffing retention. i would definitely recommend the Legacy to those who are in need of assisted living and even to those needing memory care. my loved one specifically needed an intensive level of care that they may not have been equipped to handle. i did notice that the other residents had a higher extent of mobility and seemed to be doing just fine. the memory care residents are also provided with a medical alert bracelet, but my loved one is used to Life Alert. i believe she may have forgotten that the bracelet should be used when she needs assistance with anything to prevent an accident; rather than only using it once an accident has happened. i don't blame the community for any incidents that occurred, my loved one just needs additional supervision. unfortunately this community wasn't a good fit for my loved one, but i do think it could be the perfect fit for the right person under the right circumstances. the Legacy is also much better looking than surrounding communities. i do have to say that [name removed] was fabulous! she showed us around and helped us get everything set up; she was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make this transition easier.

This community was pretty decent, and relatively new. But the small size of the apartments turned us away. They were very, very small, just under 400 square feet for a 1-bedroom. It was assisted living, so there was no full kitchen. And that's what we thought we wanted, but it ended up feeling too institutional and nursing-home-like. Dad just didn’t like it. At about 28% occupancy, there were only 3 male residents at the time. The staff was pretty good. But this just wasn't a fit for us.
