The Inn at Whitewood Village

They need to TRAIN THE AIDES before they assign them someone to shadow. The good aides train people on the floor for 3 days and then they are turned loose to take care of patients. NOT WORKING WELL!!!! Night people need to check residents more often and keep residents in their own rooms and keep them out of other residents beds!! The activity people try hard to work with the memory unit residents but are only part time and residents in assisted living are always making demands! After asking twice I was able to get finger food for my family member. They are good about keeping her laundry done up and her room clean.

The people in assisted living are very nice. The residents are always happy to welcome a new resident in, introduce them, and invite them to sit at their table. They're very accepting of any disability a resident might have. There are a lot of activities for them on the assisted living side. They don't have quite as much for memory care, but they are working on that. They have increased the activities back there from one day a week to four days a week, so that's a big help. The weekly menu looks good. When food is delivered in assisted living, it's not cold but it's not hot either. That has actually been better in memory care because they have heated carts that the food comes out on.

They're understaffed and experiencing turnover. But most of them are conscientious. I thought the food is well done and well balanced., although I think I enjoyed it more than most of the residents do. Overall we're happy with The Inn at Whitewood Village.

My mother is 96, and began falling more at home. she feels like 20, but needs to remember to have the walker with her at all times. I am still working and could just not do this anymore. I looked at 7 assisted livings, and felt whitewood was a very good fit. Mom still struggles with wanting to go home, she has dementia, some days good some days not so good. Whitewood assisted living is all one floor and small enough to manage. The staff is pleasant and helpful . Food is pretty good with many perks. There is also a memory unit to graduate too. Everyone looks happy and content and helps each other. No one looks sick, everyone dresses nice. Many activities. I am there more then I should be so if anything needs attention I know right away. Doctor and nurses on site. I would recommend The Inn At Whitewood. I feel at peace that mom is safe.

I can not rave enough about the staff at this community. They have gone above and beyond to accommodate my sister. The management have been so helpful. The food is great and they offer a lot of nice activities. Overall she seems to love it here and I would highly recommend this community.

The staff is very helpful at The Inn at Whitewood Village. My mother is still adjusting and is new to the community, so I haven't noticed anything that may need improvement yet. The staff, aides, and nurses are all wonderful. They do a very good job of keeping her safe. The place as well as my mother's room are always clean. The meals are nutritious, I ate there once but from what I've seen on the menu, it everything is nutritious and they have a lot of options.

My father is doing very well here at this community. I know he is safe and being cared for very well. They have a really good staff, and they have been great to work with. They also do a good job with keeping the community well kept. Everything is going very well for us here, and I would recommend this community.

I can't think of a single thing we have been dissatisfied with. They have done a good job. They can have fives all across the board.

My mom has been at the Inn at Whitewood Village for nearly 2 years now. We are so pleased with the care that she is receiving and can't imagine a better environment for her! I will begin by telling you about the administration. The director is the most personable, professional, likable, concerned director that anyone can ask for. He addresses issues immediately, sets high standards for his employees, and knows each resident by name. One can frequently find him chatting with the residents while they dine., getting to know them better as he empathizes with them. His office door is always open and he is never too busy to take time for families. The business director is on top of her game, as is the Marketing Director. Both are approachable and very good at what they do. The head of nursing will do whatever she can to help your loved one and is so committed to her job. The nurses and aides are at my mom's side whenever she needs them. They love the residents and do so much for them. My mom has grown to love so many of her aides., and appreciates them so much. The security at the Inn is top-notch. Monitored, hidden cameras keep everyone safe, along with a check-in system that the receptionist keeps track of. The maintenance director has done so much for my mom in the way of cleaning her carpet, fixing her walker, hanging pictures, etc. He never hesitates to pitch in where needed. The residents themselves have so much fun! The activities keep them as active as they want to be, with outings, crafts, entertainment, movies, bingo, Bible studies, etc. The facility itself is beautiful. I liken it to a cruise ship, with a movie theatre, pub, hair salon, chapel, aviary, aquarium, greenhouse, etc. I highly recommend the Inn at Whitewood Village for your loved one. Stop by and check it out for yourself and see what I am talking about. You won't be disappointed!

In my years of experience I can say confidently say that this is an absolutely terrible place. I'm not one to typically write reviews, but this facility most certainly deserves a negative review so that people looking to place their loved ones will not have to suffer the frustration and concern that comes with placing a loved one in an unsafe place. When you walk in the staff is relatively unfriendly unless they know you are a prospective customer, the nurse aides are unfriendly and unwilling to interact with the residents, the administrator is absentminded, inexperienced, and unwilling to cooperate, and although it may look pretty upon first entering, please don't let the appearance fool you. [removed] The [removed] are currently going on and the administrator has made no effort and shown no signs of concern for the safety, peace of mind, and well-being of the residents. The residents are paying a hefty price to reside in such a place and at the bare minimum deserve to have a safe environment to live in and deserve the right to feel comfortable and secure in what is their home. It is the administrator's duty to conduct thorough screenings of employees to ensure that families can safely place their loved ones. If the administrator fails to hire safe and caring employees, the residents are at risk for financial, emotional, and even physical abuse. This facility has a history of hiring deceitful employees who [removed] and commit other inappropriate acts toward the residents because there is not a valiant enough effort made to ensure that quality employees are being chosen. Additionally, the turnover rate with this facility is particularly high due to poor management. All around this is not a great facility and you could most certainly place yourself or your loved one somewhere much better and safer.

It is a relief to have my dad living at such a wonderful facility. It truly feels like home. We have been thrilled with every aspect of Whitewood. The Inn is beautiful, fun and friendly. They have daily activities that are entertaining for all the residents. The food is delicious and meals are fun with lots of socializing and laughs. The staff is the best !! They are caring and friendly at all times. His physical therapist has helped to build his strength and mobility. The nursing staff cannot be beat. They always take the time to talk with me and explain my dad's health issues. It is a comfort knowing my dad's care is in the hands of loving professionals. Without hesitation, Whitwood is given five stars in every category.

Beautiful place, like a vacation destination

We're very pleased by how things have gone with The Inn at Whitewood Village so far! We toured quite a few communities in the area and this one was far and away our favorite. They pay close attention to detail on everything, and they really take great care of the people who live here!

We toured here when we were looking. We really liked it. This was our first pick. We were going to move here, but the medical needs we had were not appropriate for the community. They didn't offer the level of care we needed.

Everything has worked out perfectly here! It's a very nice looking place, and they do a great job keeping everything looking clean and well kept. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and know all of the residents by name. I also really liked that the community didn't have a clinical, nursing home type feel.

Visited twice-will most likely schedule a lunch visit with my mom. Love the location and facility. Concerned that they are not yet approved for the medicaid waiver.
