Looked for three months to find an assisted living for our Mom, went and looked everywhere. Walked into the Heritage and it felt like home. Music playing, fresh flowers. We tried the food and it was amazing, made from scratch. Went back a few times and it was always the same. Activities always going on and the people who worked there were very friendly. We asked the resident's about living there and they all praised everything. It's been two months now and Mom has friends and is happy. What a blessing.... Read more

Everyone at The Heritage at Hunters Chase was extremely friendly during our tour. What held us back from choosing this facility was the fact that they did not really have any designated common rooms for activities.

Not what you expect from the outside. We visited this place looking for our stepfather and were really surprised. He's on a limited budget and could only afford two places in the area. People were doing a sing along, smiling and clapping. Everyone welcomed us and was so friendly. Fresh flowers on the dining room tables! Music playing everywhere. Wow! So energetic and a happy place. We will be moving him in there, heard from those who lived there food was great and staff are amazing. What a great find.

There have been many changes in the recent months that have made huge improvements with quality of care and services. Our father was in memory care and our mom in assisted living. Both received exceptional care these past several months. They just passed away within a few weeks of eachother. We cannot say enough about the staff. They are fully staffed with top notch people, management is exceptional, the dedication and love shown to us cannot be put into words. We highly recommend The Heritage to everyone we know.

Our family had an in person experience and we can't remember anything that stood out to us in a negative way. The community was clean but the price was a little to high. However, the negative we did have was not with the community but with the sales team, they were extremely pushy and way to aggressive which was a big turn off.
Extremely understaffed. I will be looking for a new place for my dad.

This is a very good community, but if your loved one has diabetic needs you will need to insist on the care they need. The community is able to accommodate special dietary restrictions. There is sometimes a breakdown in communication between the staff and the family.

Our loved one has really complimented the food and we have been impressed with the quality of service at the front desk as well as the people coming through our loved ones room. We can really tell the client care is at a high priority which we really appreciate.

You should look at other places as well as this one. You should choose a community after looking at several and making the best decision for the family. During my loved one's transition I wasn't able to contact my loved one. I wish the staff wold have helped more.

The community didn't live up to their promises. My loved one's little apartment was unclean, with wrong refrigerator, and broken blinds; they had more than a month's notice prior to my loved one moving in. There has been a lot of turnover. There's a mix-up with medication and it is never their fault. My loved one says the staff are lazy, yells at them, and is rude to them. The food hasn't been anything like promised, and is cold. I get different stories from the staff and my loved one. They are the only place that had to evacuate during the recent storms. The evacuation was to a church and they don't have showers at the church. My loved one wants to stay at their church, as the volunteers have been so nice to them. I will be looking for a new community for my loved one. I would not recommend this community due to my recent experience.

It is the second best facility in northwest Austin and the biggest bang for the buck. The other facility is significantly more expensive. The care is good but staff turnover and staff availability is lacking sometimes. The worst part is because they contract their staff, which causes a disruption in care because the contracted staff don't know your loved one. However, I am really grateful with how they took care of my loved one.

We are very happy with the Heritage at Hunters Chase. My father has lived there for more than a year and has had a great experience. His first assisted living facility was a good place but it was too far away from central Austin and unnecessarily expensive. I really like the location of the Heritage at Hunters Chase. The staff at Hunter’s Chase have been great. They are very kind and helpful. My Dad is mobility impaired and requires help with bathing and they have done a great job. My father underwent a physically challenging medical operation last summer. The Heritage helped him through this transition and now he is handling his own care with his new condition. They are doing the best that they can regarding the spread of the corona virus and that is critically important. Dad used to say at his first assisted living facility that the women ran the place. He may not have participated in some of the activities as a result of his feeling. I guess men can feel a little in the minority at places like this, but he does not have that feeling anymore at the Heritage.

The Heritage at Hunters Chase seemed like a nice facility. The lobby was bright, the receptionist was very pleasant. The person I met with was new, she'd only been there 6 wks. I was told that a face mask was required for the meeting, I was perfectly fine w/that. The person I met with was wearing her mask incorrectly, not covering both her nose and mouth. This was a bit unsettling. She was also not able to answer all my questions completely. Aesthetically, this facility is not as nice as where my parents are now although the pricing is much more attractive. I think it would be a good alternative. The apartment we toured was large and I liked that there was a standard discount for Veterans. I did not like the fact that there is only 1 nurse on staff, he seemed pleasant as well, but has only been there 6 mos. I would imagine his job would be very demanding, working 40 hrs per week then being on call the rest of the time. Unfortunately, I fear that the issues prompting me to look for a different facility now, i.e. lack of caregiver staffing, poor communication, we will be same all over. My experience is that despite being extremely up front and honest about my parents needs, the facility says they can handle it. In reality, the limited caregiver staffing makes it virtually impossible to do so. It really boils down to finding a place where the actual care provided seems commensurate with what you pay every month.

My mother lived at the Heritage at Hunters Chase for over 4 years until she passed away in May 2020. Most all of the staff especially in the Memory Care floor (Traditions) TRULY care. They took amazing care of my mother on the Memory Care floor, and everyone who visited her noticed and commented on it to me. In memory care, everyone gets their own room. The director, [name removed] is dedicated and got back to me promptly when I emailed or needed to talk to her. [Name removed], director of resident care gives out his personal cell number to everyone and encourages calls anytime. [Name removed], the memory care director knows the details of what's happening with all the memory care residents and truly cares. There are activities happening on memory care floor all the time like "bowling" and balloon games. Musical acts also come in. Their memory care is also pretty reasonably priced. The memory care staff actually enjoys the residents and has fun with them. After her stroke, my mother was combative. We did put her on meds for that, but what really helped is the Memory Care staff's approach to residents - by frequent gentle touch and showing her much love, she calmed down, stopped needing her calming meds, and responded back with love. During Covid lockdown when we couldn't visit, they set up video chat appointments for us to visit with loved ones. My mother was so confused (with Alzheimer's and several strokes) she did not understand the concept of a video chat. So the staff several times used their own personal cell phones to FaceTime for us and she understood and participated in that. I did not ask for this, they did it on their own. I wanted to reimburse them for data charges but they refused every time. They also took amazing care of her as she declined and finally passed away. [Name removed] thanked ME for letting THEM take care of her. I will really miss the smiling faces and true dedication of [names removed]. I'm sorry - I know I'm forgetting some people. I am so grateful to you guys for your care of [name removed]. Thank you.

When we were searching for a place for our Mom we had many factors in mind of the place we wanted for her. It was hard enough having to place her but harder to peruse finding one on our own. The Heritage was one of the properties that our contact gave us and we went to tour it. It was important for us to have an outdoor place for Mom and adequate space for her to roam. We were very pleased with the facility and the price and also knowing she would be well taken care of. She has been loved, well taken care of and the staff is always so friendly when we walk in. We have constant access to her and The Heritage has been phenomenal throughout this whole Covid crisis. We have had video chats and even a drive thru Mothers Day parade, all while keeping the well being of their residents in mind. We feel blessed to have found this ‘home’ for our Mom.

I have been very pleased with staff and their care for my relative. Being honest about what I see as problems has been courteously received and corrected. I live a couple of hours away and always receive prompt responses to my calls and emails which is most meaningful to me. We searched about ten facilities in the area before selecting Heritage at Hunters Chase. I would suggest visiting on and off tour to decide where you and your loved one would feel at home. I also recommend a Place for Mom as guidance for your search and knowing what to consider.

Very kind and service oriented people. A simple, moderate and ok place. I liked the Studio that had the courtyard view. It is very close to me. Seems like a variety of people live there. The places were a bit old, but had what was needed and stained carpets. The meals did not appear to be very healthy but ok... Price was low to moderate... [Name removed] was very helpful with questions, and showing me around.
