The Gardens at Marysville has a challenging role to fulfill. My mother does not want to be anywhere except for her longtime home and is in denial regarding her inability to care of herself. Some of our family made the decision to move her to memory care which is always difficult. As a retired nurse I have seen a number of memory care facilities, but none better than this one. The Gardens suites allows individual rooms which are generous size. Facility is clean, I have not observed any safety concerns. Staff has been friendly, responsive and seem well trained in dementia issues. I have witnessed staff being consistently patient & kind with my mother & others. Unfortunately, due to my mom’s refusal to join any activities I am not able evaluate activities.... Read more

May 2, 2024We appreciate your kind words about our staff and apartments at The Gardens at Marysville! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. If you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to reach out.
The medical staff is knowledgeable and caring, and the rooms are very nice. Meals need improvement, and we found it was important to stay on top of communications with general staff to ensure services are updated and consistent.

Most of the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately we had a very bad experience regarding administering of drugs to my mom by the med tech. Should have been administered as needed but med tech (not a nurse--no RN on site) who gave my mom morphine every hour for 8 hrs. Mom's respiration dropped to 6 breaths/min. There was no accountability or admittance to this error. I would NOT recommend The Gardens as a place for anyone's loved one

I was excited to come here. First week was a shock and disappointment because of the cold food and plates tasteless. The manner of service is a nightmare. The chef is a great guy but he needs new recipes. Lots of complaints.

The care is good at The Gardens, and the rooms are nice. But the dining is disappointing. The food is terrible, and the dining experience is lonely.

There are not equipped or have the skilled staff for dementia with behavior problems. I chose this community because I was impressed with the facility. They told me the staff have been they for years and there wasn't a high turnover. Two months after he moved in, the director quit, and new director came in and fired the entire staff and brought in all new people. I don't believe he was cared for properly. I would not recommend this community to other families.

The staff here did a nice job on my tour and they answered all my questions. The community was nice and clean and had a lot to offer, but the location was not a good fit for me.

This community seemed nice and clean when we visited. They have a nice courtyard and garden. This community was a little more expensive than what we were looking for.

A Place for Mom really helped to get me to check out Brookdale. The people at Brookdale are friendly and helpful as well as giving you a feeling that you loved one will be in good hands. My dad was absolutely opposed to going to any type of senior facility, and after going to lunch at Brookdale with [Removed] and [Removed], he changed his mind and gave it a chance. After a week, he seems more involved, is taking better care of himself, and also letting the staff assist him in areas he wouldn't accept help for before.... Thank you all at Brookdale !!!!!

This is a pretty decent community, I know my mother is safe here. The community looks great, they do a very good job with keeping everything nice and well maintained. Like any other community you have some parts of staff that are amazing and other's that need some more training. There activities offered, but I wish the consistency and encouragement of the residents to participate was better. The food is fair. I would recommend it, but with some reservations.

This is a community that I would recommend. They are caring for my brother and his needs very well. It is a nice looking community, they do a good job with keeping his room and the facility nice and clean. The staff is excellent, they have been very pro-active. There are many activities offered for him to try if he wants to. The meals are nice, he is pleased with the food. They are providing him with great care and I would recommend this community.

A Place for Mom has scored The Gardens at Marysville 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
