They seem to be constantly short staffed and some staff are under trained. They have lost a considerable amount of talented people. Activities seem to be limited, they have to turned the activity into the lunch room during remodel

The staff are very friendly. We have had to sit down with the heads of staff a couple of times to discuss a couple of care concerns. We have been able to come up with plans to address the issues.

The friendliness of the staff gets a 5+. We cannot comment on the activities because our loved one does not do anything, but what we like most about the community is being together and our loved ones do have some friends there.

We needed to find my parent a memory care facility. We viewed different available rooms and the rest of the facility. We were impressed and decided right then and there to pursue it. The day after move in, was the first negative experience. Finding your parent, who is largely not ambulatory and incontinent lying in bed at noon, still in their pajamas that you dressed them in the night before, in a pool of their own urine is enough to make you angry. Next negative experience...walking in to see their food from the prior meal sitting uneaten, but with their mandatory and necessary medication "hidden" in the rice, will also make you angry. Third negative experience...arriving on day 3 and finding them lying in bed again...at lunchtime...again...only this time covered from head to toe in feces and the toilet covered in feces will AGAIN make you angry. The care is less than adequate for the $[removed] a month paid. Not pleased at all. Need more than 1000 characters to fully express my discontent.

Good food and a Clean community. My wife was there 4 days and fell and fractured her neck, it's deeply concerned,13 days in hospital, 20 days in rehab and she has been back at cascade for 2 weeks and things are going much better. My wife chose cascade on her own after looking at 5 places. And they are soon put in a fall monitoring system since my wife's fall

We picked this community, because it's in my loved one's hometown. I wanted to get her back to her friends. The staff are friendly and helpful. They don't make you feel that you are a bother. I would recommend it. I would tell a friend, that my loved one thats in there is thriving (unlike the nursing home she came out of)

We appreciate your positive comments regarding the responsiveness of our administrative team and the cleanliness and size of the rooms. My loved one is a resident at Cascade Valley. The choices for meals are good. The housekeeping is excellent. Most people are very friendly. The lady at the front desk isn't always friendly and sometimes rude. Other than that, we've had excellent assistance. [name removed], the associate that met with us first, is over the top helpful and friendly!!!

There has been a recent fairly high turnover in staff, but all newcomers are very friendly and caring. Would absolutely recommend them, depending on budget and level of care needed.

They provide pretty good service, but they're not perfect. And they don't always respond well when I come to them with concerns.

December 17, 2021Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
We went with Cascade Valley because it is a smaller facility, the staff were friendly, and it is close to where I live. The room sizes at the facility are fine. I would suggest that they improve their wifi network, when I have brought this up they said it is in process.

We chose Cascade Valley because [name removed] who gave us the tour did a great job and we got a good feel for the place. Also the location is great for us. We met the activities director and nurse and everyone was super friendly and helpful. They are very welcoming and answer all questions and seem open to any feedback. We are very pleased with them and my mom is happy here.

We had a virtual tour with this community. The tour was good and the staff was very nice and informative. we liked the community but we felt it was too small and that didnt fit our needs.
Per DSHS report, there are, in my opinion, egregious deficiencies identified with the administrator at the time saying, "s/he did not know..." Items such as allowing a non-licensed person to administer medications, etc. Although these items have been recently remedied (2020), with a significant staff change from nursing to administration, I am uncomfortable placing my parent here due to the nature of the findings, as well as, the short-term of the present staff. They seem like they are very nice and professional people but until there is some longer term stability, I am super uncomfortable with this place - back in 2017 when we were looking at this place for our other parent, there were significant issues identified by the family at that point.

November 15, 2018Hi Marva, my name is Shawn, and I work at the Milestone Support Center (located in Vancouver, WA). I have gone and sent this over to the community and regional leadership team. They are working hard to ensure that more activities are added based on the preferences of residents. The Regional Vice President of Operations is also working with the staff to make immediate improvements. We are excited to have a staff that is ready to bring more teamwork into the building. We have had since a lot of compliments about the care staff and leadership team from families and residents. Please private message our Facebook page if you wish to provide any additional information about your experience. I can then take it to the appropriate individuals. Thank you again, Marva, and have a great rest of your day. Shawn - Digital Marketing

A Place for Mom has scored Cascade Valley 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
