Due to its size (not too large and not too small), everyone knows everyone - including family members. They are always very friendly and will stop to talk. And my mother gets lots of visits and hugs. Of course, there are always a few glitches here and there at every place. I think they take care of my mother very well. She now calls it her home. Dining room is gorgeous and some of the foot is terrific and other ok. They do have regular dining meetings for the dining staff and interested residents. Naturally, it is not like going to a restaurant but we think it is good. There are quite a few things to do. My mom is rather picky so she doesn't do many, but loves morning exercise classes and bingo. They have socials, performances, art and music therapy, etc. I am quite impressed. It is a gorgeous place. They are going to renovate a few places but I don't think it's necessary. It is beautiful. And the outside is lovely, with seating, covered porches, chairs and benches, ceiling fans, lovely landscaping and wonderful geese that seems to visit quite often (but this year, not so much except for one couples and its ducklings). And they hose the area a lot to eliminate goose dropping.... Read more

We love The Gardens at Fair Oaks. What we love the most about the community is the quality of care given by the staff members, the décor in the community and the food that is prepared for the residents. And not too big or too small. Plenty of room in her room - dinette, living room, bedroom and large bathroom. Not inexpensive, though, but it is worth it. We would absolutely recommend this community to others!!!

The staff is phenomenal. They pride themselves on the longevity of their staff. The staff has how many years the staff has been there printed on their name tags. They also have a board that shows how long all the staff has been there as well. They work with us regarding my loved ones dietary needs. Overall, we are pleased with it. I think it was the right decision.

This facility offers EXCELLENT food (a WONDERFUL menu), excellent care, and an EXCELLENT location! Also, the activities for the residents are varied, i.e., there are educational, entertaining, and intellectually stimulating options! Famiilies are encouraged and welcome to visit!

The place is way over priced. You think there are a lot of people working there only to find out half or more are contract employees with an outside firm who work for people living there. Service, help, Activities and functions use to be good but a lot of people quit. The good ones due to poor pay and no raises. My relative will be moving out soon to go to another place that cost less by thousands of dollars

I think with the availability they didn't have too much but it was a good palce. I want to say it was more or less the same price as Sunrise and had more or less the same things. They had some sort of program where if you needed extra care you had to bring outside help in and that was something we wanted to avoid.

This was more of a high rise option, leaving his room didn't make you feel very involved. The rooms were a lot smaller too, if he left his room he wouldn't really know where to turn, it was just one long hallway and then an elevator and he wouldn't get involved.

A Place for Mom has scored The Gardens at Fair Oaks 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
