The Firs

We chose The Firs because of the value for the money and because of many recommendations from locals. I find it odd that they have no one on staff that has the authority to help you up off the floor if you fall, even if you request that they do so. There must be some kind of waiver that could be signed to avoid having to dial 911.

The Firs is across the street from St Peter's hospital and many many professional medical offices. This makes my visits and e.g. hip replacement this year very convenient. The building is aged, but maintained very well. My apartment for instance, has been upgraded top to bottom with a walk-in shower, new carpet and paint. Very nice. As people move out, seems intention is to continue upgrading and maintaining a nice place! The staff have been here--they stay and are dedicated. Ver friendly and aware of what's happening with residents. Do their best!

I am currently a resident at The Firs. My experience at this facility has been very good so far. The cleanliness and friendliness here are great. The staff and care services are good. The food is okay. Overall, I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

My loved one is very happy with the accommodations. I haven't heard a single complaint. My biggest concern was affordability and The Firs seems to provide a good bang for the buck. I would certainly recommend this facility to others looking.

I have been well-received; introduced to others; invited to activities. Residents and Admin are very friendly and effective. Received lots of help from maintenance (hung TV and curtains) upon move in. Staff is always willing to help.

I looked at a few different facilities and I chose The Firs because I felt really good about it at the time I was making the decision, it just felt like the right choice and it has turned out to be so. The apartments are a pretty good size. The food is very good, what I like the most is the ability to make a meal out of all of the things that are available. No matter what your likes are -you can make something out of it. The staff here have all been extremely friendly. Overall it has been been a good experience.

This has been a very good experience for me. My apartment is comfortable and a pleasant space. The staff has been kind and always helpful as needed. Extracurricular activities are varied and offer something for just about everyone. There is a sense of friendliness throughout. I have lived at The Firs for just over 2 years. During that time I have had such a fun time living here. I came from another retirement community in Seattle that I enjoyed, but when I arrived here many residents welcomed me with open arms, it made me feel so good. They invited me to dinner and to various activities. I enjoy TED Talks, Documentary Hour and Coffee & Conversation. Team Trivia & Happy Hour are great fun. So many nice people here! The Firs has a restaurant that I can eat in any time of day, the service is great and the staff really seem to like working here. I appreciate having night managers available, my daughter likes knowing I am in a safe place. If there is an emergency the medics are down the road and the hospital is across the street. I feel welcome to talk with managers anytime, they are attentive to me and I feel like they listen to all the residents even if we ramble too much. Everyone is important at The Firs it is a positive living environment.

The Firs community is just fantastic, it is kept really clean and we are just so grateful to of found them. The staff members are fantastic, and even with the supply shortage the meals and dining service its overall pretty good. The value for cost is great they have been very accommodating to our family so its has been worth every penny.

I rarely ever give a 5 star review because I feel there is always room for improvement. Besides their need to perfect their website to pay remotely for rent and a few bumps in the beginning, I am really happy with the care and activities The Firs provides for my mother. She has made friends already with other residence and gets involved with various activities offered. She also enjoys the salon facilities onsite while I have the comfort of knowing she is safe. Her home caretaker comes as well as her physical therapists. They have weekly cleaning of sheets and light housekeeping. It actually is a wonderful place for Mom to call home!

It's been a good experience so far. I attribute a lot of that to my family that lives here and has been so good to me. They help me out a lot, and they take me to appointments. The Firs does offer transportation to appointments, but only on a couple of days a week, which doesn't always work out for scheduling with new doctors. My apartment is small, and I wish the layout was a little better. The living room is smaller than my bedroom, and the bathroom is very big. So I wish there was more space in the living room where I spend more of my time. But I had to get what I could afford, so I opted to take a smaller apartment. They need more help here, especially with maintenance. I know they're trying to get more help, and I understand that it's difficult right now. I had one big issue, which was troubling, but we worked through it, and it's all been straightened out now. I've been really impressed with the youth that wait on us in the dining room and kitchen. All of the staff have been great, but it's especially nice to see how the youth interact with us. They go above and beyond in caring for us and are very thoughtful. I think they're wonderful kids. If I don't call down and tell the staff that I'm not coming for breakfast, they send someone to my door to make sure I'm okay. And they do the same thing for the evening meal.

Overall the community is a great place, the staff is amazing and the community feels homey. It is very neat and clean and the staff are very friendly I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

Our first impression of The Firs was just the nice friendly and homey atmosphere it had. Also the activities are starting to pick back up.

We chose The Firs because of the amazing care, the outstanding staff members, and they really went above and beyond. They were always checking on her for me even when they didn't have to. The meals provided were great, the food that I saw looked chef prepared. I really like the location of the facility, they are close to a lot of stores so I could shop and take things to my mom if I needed to. It is in the trees so it is beautiful scenery. I wish they had assisted living and my mom would definitely still be living here.

We chose The Firs because she wanted to be closer to a hospital, so the location was the main reason. She has been happy with her apartment size, it is great for her needs. I would recommend them to others looking.

The staff is awesome and the community itself is awesome. The rooms are great and have a kitchen to cook. The community is very clean and very helpful. I would definitely recommend the community to others

I would tell others that this is a great place. This is a great stepping stone for your loved one between leaving a home and before assisted living. The staff and community would make sure to check on the residents. They would call and make sure the resident ordered their meals.

The staff is exceptional, they do a great job providing safety and assistance when needed. The apt sizes are good, and the food is average. I would recommend this community to others.
